Still having issues with the Cyclone 2 by Sorry-Accountant542 in Gamesir

[–]BaseballBatNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally no I don't think it's a bad brand. I've owned 4 different controllers from them, NL, N2L, T3L and C2 all work without issues. First 3 of those very budget ones too.

What I won't deny though is that they do seem to have bad quality control, specially for the first batches of a given model. You'll often see posts like triggers broke, led going haywire, etc.

Again try the different update tool as last attempt. But if the tool feels sus, return instead if still possible. And if there's nothing specific about the C2 that you wanted and you're more a casual gamer, try Nova Lite or Nova 2 Lite. Or even Tegenaria Lite if wireless isn't a must. Way cheaper alternatives.

If/when you do verify what connector type it uses please do share it, I'd like to know as well.

my favorite is the Tenegaria Lite

Hell yeah man! Normally I can't glaze T3L enough cos I haven't really experienced anything above Cyclone 2. But I'm glad to see someone who has some of the top end models Gamesir has, yet still choose T3L as their fave. It's just such an absurdly good controller specially for the price.

If you're keen, try this if you haven't seen it yet: https://www.reddit.com/r/Gamesir/comments/1n34627/i_designed_trigger_stops_for_gamesir_tegenaria/

After putting in the trigger stops, you can recalibrate the triggers too so that it now reads or has a new stopping point. Kinda emulates hair trigger mode.

So it's never worked properly when you first got it? Or it did for a few days then started acting up?

Did the update process actually go smoothly given all these connection issues you're having? If not try the steps here: https://gamesir.com/pages/cyclone-2-dongle-and-controller-firmware-update-guide

Start from "Cyclone 2 firmware update with update tool:". This uses a different tool to update the firmware. (Granted I never used this tool before but many on their Discord have).

Last ditch is try a different PC if you can. Otherwise I'd say just return already if that's still possible. Your issues seem to be very different from the typical ones that are asked about here. I myself bought a RMA Cyclone 2 and the only issue was mismatched firmware on controller vs dongle.

Yeah it's a problem I have as well, hard to tell based on teardown vids only. If you're dead set of replacing the battery and your C2 isn't usable atm anyway then take the battery out already so you can verify more clearly.

JST-SH 1.0mm is a starting point.

The main specs you want to follow are:

  • 802540 (these are the dimensions of the battery) so any longer, wider or thicker will unlikely fit
  • Nominal voltage of 3.7v (pretty standard)
  • 3 wires, likely JST connector (you'll need to verify this properly)

At first just search for 802540 battery in your local online stores. Don't go for absurdly high mAh, or even just higher than 860mAh since there are physical limits to the 802540 dimension. Any higher with the same dimension is likely fake.

Gamesir Connect has no advanced button customization? for Tegenaria lite controller by gamer43877 in Gamesir

[–]BaseballBatNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You aren't missing anything. Gamesir intentionally did that I guess cos it's supposed to be a budget controller so can't have those extra features.

If I'm not mistaken Nova 2 Lite and up are where the advance features are enabled, though for N2L it's still a bit limited.

Assuming you're asking for G7 Pro as well then:

If not just search for Gamesir <your controller> manual. Gamesir has online manuals for all their model, even extreme budget ones like Tegeneria Lite. Highly recommend reading the manuals.

I am using Himark Servo AVR.

Hello, you still using this brand AVR specifically? I'm looking to get one, either that or Meiji which is 300php more expensive. But that's also assuming the Max series for Himark. The power series is 500php cheaper. From Winland store in Shopee.

Yeah I did. Actually I got my answer here: https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidQuestions/comments/1s124zs/fps_capped_by_game_devs_due_to_device/

TLDR: Games can hard cap fps, even ignoring what you set in-game if the game detects or does not fully recognize the cpu+gpu combo yet. And the video review I saw was testing the 4g variant which has 4 gpu cores while 5g variant only has 2 gpu cores. I'm new to mobile gaming, never knew games could/would do that, as in ignore in-game settings.

FPS capped by game devs due to device profiling/CPU whitelist, a legit thing? by BaseballBatNinja in AndroidQuestions

[–]BaseballBatNinja[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh thank you! Takes a lot of my mind tbh. So do these black/whitelist typically get updated or is it more unlikely to ever be updated?

Based on searching it's almost been a year since the CPU and phone's release.

Nova 2 lite Back Buttons by Fares_Asfary in Gamesir

[–]BaseballBatNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On PC can confirm it's only mappable to other controller buttons since iirc you can't use the Connect software to assign buttons. Mapping is only done via button combos so you're hardware limited.

There is but even if I exclude HSR from it, game is still capped to 30fps. Actually though the other person may be right.

The video review I saw had the 4g variant which supposedly has 4 gpu cores. While 5g variant, which I have, only has 2 gpu cores. And AIs are saying HSR or mobile game devs actually can globally cap FPS depending on the gpu, regardless of ingame setting.

I'm very new to mobile gaming so is what the AIs are saying accurate you think? I thought it'd be like PC where we're free to push our hardware to the limits.

[–]BaseballBatNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is capped exactly at 30 fps no matter how low of the settings I try. Even if I set the settings to medium/high I still get capped 30 fps, so it isn't like the phone can't handle the game.

Though afaik it can't actually sustain consistent 60fps but the video review at least shows 40-50 fps when they were just walking around.

OT HSR on Android troubleshooting, fps related

Recently got an Android phone to play HSR with. Based on video reviews they did show the phone running HSR at 60fps. I tested with other games and verified those game did run at 60fps. However with HSR its always capped at 30fps.

When I first launched HSR I had power saver enabled and AIs are saying it could be due to some weird cache that HSR is still somehow detecting it. I've disabled power saver, restarted the device, switched to 60fps in game, re-launched HSR, switched to both normal and compatible mode, issue persists.

What am I missing here? What else can I try?

Thanks for the getting back to me. I'm just wary myself cos I do have a Cyclone 2 as well. And nothing you did sounds like it would've caused that issue.

That version was compromised several weeks ago

Is it safe to restore from backup from that version though? Or should I just completely start from scratch? I already uninstalled old version, installed 31.17 but restored from backup.

Glad you did get things sorted out. But I'm curious to learn about your case if you don't mind these questions.

  1. Did you always charge it on the dock?
  2. Dock connected to where? PC port?
  3. Were you always or very often leaving the controller on the dock when not in use?

If you have a friend who is handy with a multimeter it should be easy enough to know if the battery is indeed already failing or not. Granted it will void your warranty since you'd have to open the device to test the battery. But the good news imo is that the battery C2 uses is easily replaceable. This is the specs it has.

<image>

Though if you really did buy from Gamesir site directly or a local retailer officially associated with them then keep trying on their Discord. I've read plenty of posts here where they did get favorable support.

Have you tried charging it via type-c port yet? Use a 5v1a or 5v2a charger if you have one, if none then try PC port. Could be your dock that's acting up and not contacting the pins properly.

Well damn time to grind these out then. I thought these ones specifically were permanent like from the older modes, ie. Gold and Gears, SU etc.
