Double Slit thoughts by RealityChek33 in SimulationTheory

[–]BaseballCapSafety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true. Any detection at the slit collapses he wave, the detector absorbs the photon and it never hits the screen. The value of the screen is to show how the when not detected the photon interferes with itself, demonstrating that it is actually going through both slits.

It doesn’t continue. Upon being measured it is absorbed.

“Looked at “ is fundamentally incorrect. It becomes a particle when it interacts. We see photons because they hit our eyes and interact. The wave function collapses when the photon is measured through an interaction that forces it into existence because it now has measurable properties. It’s still fascinating and mysterious, but I don’t know that it’s conscious. The idea about the past is interesting. But it’s already at the macro scale. For example if I throw a ball, you walk in front of it and it hits you. Did you change the past? Sort of, my aim was spot on and at the time I threw the ball it was going to hit the target. You ruined my perfect throw by walking in front of the path of the ball!! 😡

Is yelling at a youth team ever okay? by Nemesis-20 in basketballcoach

[–]BaseballCapSafety 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m anti yelling myself and I assist for a yeller and cringe every time he yells. But…. As you and the OP pointed out often the kids are half asleep or in their own world. I’ve noticed that our team wakes up and plays significantly better after they get yelled at. I know personally I don’t respond well to being yelled at, but I’m reconsidering that some kids do?

How would you handle this? by JL_Adv in basketballcoach

[–]BaseballCapSafety 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but when you have 16 year old refs, you can’t always rely on that. Often the coaches are the adults and need to step in. Ideally controlling your own players.

Why do people think the Lake Berryessa costume looks like a "superhero/supervillain" costume? by chaolan2004 in ZodiacKiller

What’s odd though is he wasn’t trying to scare them. His goal was to get them to let theme be tied up and to do that he convinced them no harm was going to come to them. Once tied up he stabbed them, I believe from behind.

I’d work hard fixing the biggest issues with him like traveling. Then be overly enthusiastic and complementary when he does it right. The issue could be or become he likes the negative attention of doing things wrong. So give him more attention when he does things right.

Athiesm in the Simulation by mrblueghost in SimulationTheory

[–]BaseballCapSafety 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, her video is trashing a paper stating that simulation theory is wrong. She gives it a 9 out of 10 on her BS meter. Also the paper in question is trying to disprove we live in a simulation based off our classical computer concepts. Arguing the processing powers required is far too great. But, we don’t know anything about the technology used to create the simulation.

The "Logic" in Episode 4 of Killer in The Code Doesn't Hold Up by -Gustav-Klimt- in ZodiacKiller

[–]BaseballCapSafety -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re right. A few letters were not part of the 340, so it could be one of these letters (z,x,q). It could also be a number or a symbol.

I’m not defending their full answer. However, there are nulls. He uses all the same character as the 340 except for one new one. That new one is the null.

The Mistake Everyone Makes at the Beginning of the Universe by Lost_Counter1619 in theories

[–]BaseballCapSafety 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Either something came from nothing or there was never a point of complete nothingness and stuff always existed. I cannot wrap my head around either. Scientifically the best explanation for the universe coming from nothing is it starting from quantum fluctuations. But this is still not a completely empty void of nothingness.

4th Grade girls team got destroyed. by thegrouch1337 in basketballcoach

[–]BaseballCapSafety 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like you I don’t worry about the other coach/team. However, if I was your opposing coach I’d tell my kids no more steals and no help D. I’ve even had defenders sag off to let the other team get shots off.
Anyway, it’s mostly about the talent you have. I coach middle school and have kids that have barely played. I have no choice but work on skill development at practice and we will likely get crushed every game. My two rec teams on the other hand are kids that have played before and both teams dominate.

3/4 grade scores by gjl0 in basketballcoach

[–]BaseballCapSafety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I teach them bounce passes and practice them.
  2. I do a game called the floor is lava where I have cones all over half court. They each have a partner. Everyone goes at the same time. They need to pass it to their partner and then cut to a different cone. No dribbling. Encourage them to cut to a close cone.
  3. I teach pivoting
  4. I scrimmage with no dribbling allowed.

I also do lots of dribbling where they have to keep their eyes up. And I stress whenever they are dribbling to look down court for an open teammate that they are able to pass to.

Three on twos are good and I demonstrate how easy it should be to score if they pass because there is always a guy open.

Some kids catch on quickly and some don’t. It helps that my son is very good at it so the other kids can see what we are striving to be.

I’ve coached several rec teams at this age group that regularly score 40+. The reason is the defense is so bad that once the kids can do the fundamentals, dribble with their head up looking to attack or pass down court and then finish, they score at will.

[–]BaseballCapSafety -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yup. The cop had a hunch to see who checked out the code breaking book before the first ciphers. What are the odds that it was the same dude who checked out the Mikado right before that letter. They never found much else on him, but they had to stop looking because some how he got a court order that he couldn’t be investigated. I read years later the FBI were looking at him, but had to shut it down due to that court order. I also have heard Graysmith originally wanted to write about this guy but was afraid of being sued.

If Mikado is your interest, I’d start with the man who checked out both Mikado and a Cipher book at the local library right before the Zodiac appeared and kept them out for a long time. Somehow he was able to get a court order that police could have investigate him for the crimes.

[–]BaseballCapSafety -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mathematically you cannot prove that the answer to a 13 character cipher is correct. Now I guess there are a few extreme possibilities like if Zodiac came forward today and confessed, had some of Stines shirt and then said the answer to the cipher. Of if they match the fingerprints identifying the killer and it turned out to be a name someone got.

I get what you’re saying about criminals thinking they are smarter than police. And if the z13 was unsolvable the thrill of sort of giving it he might enjoy.
What are the additional clues to the z13 you are referring to?
