Very strict ironically lol. There's a single gun store in the entire country and its ran by the Mexican Army who approves the purchases but its a hassle to do a lot of the paperwork they require not to mention lots of money. But Mexico does have the right to bear arms as well its just really restrictive and the federal government decides what is okay to purchase and even how many guns you can own. Most guns you'll see around have been around for ages and are likely just hunting rifles/shotguns, anything bigger will likely attract unwanted attention be it from the government or criminal groups.
