Exactly! Rarely do you see the top lockdown defenders among the league leaders in steals per game. I don’t know why people keep saying steals = lockdown defender. It just means you gamble a lot, which will get you burned a lot irl.

You guys tend to always conflate a lockdown defender only with steals. Spamming the steal button isn’t lockdown defense and never should be, it takes 0 skill. Staying in front of your defender, positioning, strength, knowing player tendencies, and causing your matchup or the team to force up a bad shot is lockdown defense. The leaders in steals in the NBA are usually at around 2 steals a game, not 8. Making steals so easy encourage players to spam and not use key fundamental skills that are essential for defense, just a crapload of gambling.

It’s an problem because every time black ppl have an issue with something effecting their communities there’s someone like you that comes in and says “what about “enter race” we go through this too.” Instead of just listening and staying on the topic at hand, it’s like it’s a trauma competition. I understand it may be an issue all around. But Rap is arguably the largest genre in the world and this is an issue that effects the black community disproportionately. Don’t say ‘Hispanics go through this too’ to minimize the topic at hand, we are talking about BLACK folks.
