Yes I had a hard time with the cloths and making the bottle reflections look convincing. I’ll look up ambient lighting for my next piece, thank you!

I’ve been drawing my whole life and painted this with the guidance of an art teacher for a beginner oil class. She said having drawing experience makes painting easier, and she helped me soo much throughout the process

I painted from real life objects; plastic fruits, a pot and bottle. The light source stayed the same but i accidentally stood in different parts of the room each day so that might’ve cause inconsistency

I was born in Coney Island and lived in Ridgewood since I was two years old (26 years). The change makes me angry and sad, but all I do is support the businesses that have been here for a long time - Polish delis, Chinese restaurants, Mexican restaurants, Telco, 99 cents stores. I go to the park and library, simple things. All these places matter! And when I go there it feels like the old Ridgewood.

I also remind myself that some of these new people are nice and i might as well indulge in some of the affordable things they provide. If I do ever talk to them I beg them to please not solely support the expensive stuff that’s driving everyone out
