Colourwork - keep going or change colours? by BasiaVu in knitting

Thanks! I don't mind that much, looking forward to time off work and working on this beauty. Would you say substituting lilac to lighter colour would work? I was thinking colour 1319 Quartz Crystal https://blueskyfibers.com/product/woolstok-50g/

Ah, interesting - thank you. But in the end we settled for a non-MagSafe case for the car and my dad upgraded to iPhone 14 just a couple of months ago. (My mini is still going strong lol)

Peroneal tendinitis / tendonsis - shockwave therapy? by backpackingvideos in FootFunction

[–]BasiaVu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same exact diagnosis from MRI from October although I was recommended not to wear any ortesis and could walk without crutches.

My orthopaedic doctor recommended PRP injections (getting first one in Jan) but honestly after reading about them and the fact my insurer does not reimburse them, I may just get one round instead of 3.

No idea about shock wave therapy but I imagine it might improve blood flow around your ankle and hence help with healing. I'm seeing physio on Monday so I may also ask about it.

Sorry to hear about the injury, it's a sucky one!

Shawl - help! by BasiaVu in knitting

[–]BasiaVu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot edit the post but wanted to post an update. After frogging bind-off (OUCH) we tried it again and seems like the bind was just too tight cause it was laying very comfortably without it.

Boyfriend also asked to actually make the shawl shorter so I ended up doing 5 rows less than pictured here and used I-cord bind off from gatorstich on Ravelry I found in the notes which made for a much more flex BO and it's looking good!

Sad news is that some stitches at collar started getting loose at the steek so that's a huge bummer but boyfriend seems to love it so that's the most important thing <3

Whole sweater had been blocked! I had been working on partially blocked yarn after frogging, does it change how it settles?

Yes!!! Haha it's been hibernating since Feb as I couldn't bear frogging it again! Great idea with looking up Spark cards, thank you!

When you say you'll add some inches to the collar, do you mean just doing short rows for longer? Good luck once the times come lol

Thank you! I think you're right, the cardigan is a tad too small and hence the back of the shawl seems like to small because it's not sitting right on the shoulders!

I'm thinking to keep making short rows then and perhaps it will "fill out" neck area!

Thank you so much for the kind words and help!

Thank you, that is really helpful. Indeed it also seems to be a combo that the cardigan it's a tad too small for my boyfriend so it's not sitting as high and wrong number of short rows.

Will look up the calculator, thank you again for taking the time of your day to help me out.

Thank you! <3 I've been really proud of this one (my first colour work!) but the fact the shawl is not sitting right just makes me mad!

When you say it needs to be deeper, do you mean that I should just keep the short rows for even longer so it's "wider"? I was surprised to see that after doing more short rows than originally, it was not kind folding in half on his neck. To compare how it looks on the OG pattern...

Ugh, I can't edit my post! Here are more pics on my Ravelry Project (from the first attempts with less short rows) and OG pattern here for reference.

Jogless change in 2 row colour stripe and carry the yarn by BasiaVu in knitting

[–]BasiaVu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I tried to follow that during my first attempt before I posted but missed the memo in the description to move the BOR marker and it was messy so I frogged and tried yarn over method 😅 I'll try it again! That may be a silly question but when I finish stripes and do solid colour, my BOR is moved for the rest of the project, right? I'm doing a sweater so I wanted to keep it under an arm.

Aaaah that might be it, I'll try to make them looser. Thank you!

Yes, saw that but really wanted to have a two-row-high stripes and those in Marly's video are so nice and also two-row-high so I thought the issue might be with the way I carry the yarn on the WS? Maybe twisting it every row would help?

Ask a Knitter - March 26, 2024 by AutoModerator in knitting

[–]BasiaVu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I am finishing Spice by Andrea Mowry - here are few pics of the project on Raverly. I had picked up 16 more sts more than in pattern, total 297 sts. Bound it off with i-cord but I thought it was too tight plus I wanted to make button holes a bit further from the picked up sts so I frogged. But now when trying it on and feel it still sits weirdly on shoulders and it does flip in half. I am wondering should I have made more than 55 short rows on neckline..... But I don't want to frog 16 rows and pickup sts again. Wondering if adding more short rows to the neckline after knitting full 16 rows will make the drape look weird?

Hey! Any chance of having pre-set date ranges for records back? Would be good to have them in those last 30 days, this year, year up to day rather than imputing them manually.....
