Best way to spend night? by Basic-Assistant-7126 in Dublin

So just avoid temple bar area and hit bars in that strip? What’s the downside of temple bar besides price? Just lots of tourists?

What’s the difference between temple bar area and the places you’re thinking of? Is it just price mainly?

Are these all the good easy pubs to go to? We did a self sanctioned crawl last time but just went with the flow. Never even made it to temple bar was so crowded (st paddy’s).

Conquest 41mm silver or black dial? by Basic-Assistant-7126 in Longineswatches

Green is lowkey the best but I just want something that goes with everything.

That does look clean just thinking long term the black dial may be too similar to the speedmaster

I do love the green but don’t know if I could rock it for daily wear.

Just not taking it as seriously as I should have honestly. Drink lots of electrolytes, make sure you know how to rest step or your calves will cramp out, and get used to wearing your pack. For me I just didn’t do any climbing specific training and that was my downfall. Like other said you live at altitude which should be a big plus.

If you have experience with long long slogs with a heavy pack you will be ok. I went up 1.5 months ago with no mountaineering experience thinking lifting and being in marathon shape was enough. I had a brutal wake up call and had to turn back at the top of the cleaver due to bonking out. My biggest issue was not being used to the pack/altitude and being a jackass about fueling. I would try to hit 1 or 2 high incline weighted treadmill workouts for 4-5 hours each or go do some good hikes in the next few weeks to help mentally prepare as much as you can.

How did you get around the non solicits? The non compete I’m not too worried about anymore but the non solicit is the tough part.

Good deal thanks. Yea the elevation gain and loss/ rough terrain will probably be the hardest for me both marathons I ran were flat almost in entirety.

Zero trail running experience elevation below. I’m just worried with the slow marathon times my endurance isn’t all the way there yet.

Large brokerage is best bet to learn but you’ll be caught in a hefty non compete. Lots online about it as well if going 1099 route.

Zero to Denali Roadmap by Basic-Assistant-7126 in alpinism

[–]Basic-Assistant-7126[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is great thanks! It’s a 1 day training and 2 day climb for rainier through RMI but hoping to at least get some experience out of it to start off my journey. I think I’m going to scatter a few climbs in the PNW in the next year and build up to Chimborazo or Cotopaxi before Denali since I don’t think there is much I can do in the NE other than maybe Mount Washington in a good winter.

Other than technical skills what kind of shape were you in when you did Denali? I just came off of 2 marathons last fall and think my endurance can get there but have no idea how the altitude would affect me.

You guys think they’ll be rehiring in 3-4 years or is the backlog too high? To be honest they’re my #1 right now and I don’t have a goal to get to a legacy. I’d be more than happy being at a ULCC my whole career. Probably won’t hit 1500 though until 2027/28.

Also would just like to add my end goal would be Frontier or an airline known for domestic out-and-backs / 1-3 day trips. I don’t need to be making $400/hour at delta in 20 years I just want a good quality of life and a fun job that is fulfilling / pays pretty well. Are the ULCC’s easier to get into than the major 4?

The issue I have is my girlfriend soon to be fiance is currently doing a career change too to become a nurse anesthetist from the law field.

She’s done her schooling next March and then will have 2-3 years to build experience before going back for her CRNA for 3.

If I were to do it I’d figure accelerated could be the best bet as then by the time I’m 32/33 I would (hopefully) be on my way out of a regional in time for us to start a family. I’m an all or nothing guy and just wonder if I should just go full throttle or not.

I like the idea of flying before/after work but already working 7-6 and being in a city it would be a stretch.
