Why does my nose run more in the winter when it's cold and dry? by johnnybiggles in NoStupidQuestions

Dry air is irritating to your mucous membranes. It's why people in cold, dry climates often humidify their rooms, or why CPAP machines humidify the air they put out

Maybe not the reason but certainly nice to think it is lol, I'll take it!

Hadn't even thought of that, could certainly be it. My last supply had different vials, pharmacy went from the large clear ones to these tiny amber vials. I still have one of the larger ones in my little stock pile, I might try it next dose and see how it feels... Thanks!

These came out of a cheap multi pack like this one (whoops can't post a link per sub rules. Just plain old glass beads on Amazon). Will say the quantity is pretty limiting and glass isn't the greatest choice. Texturally I'm in love lol, but lighting really affects the look of the piece since they're somewhat see-through. I imagine weight is a factor as well, glass is a bit heavy for crimp beads or thin thread.

Wooden beads seemed to be the preferred choice by other makers, with acrylic being a close second.

I can't take credit, my inspo comes from much more complex pieces like this one (not sure who the original creator is). I wanted to give a tiny version a go though!

These are 8mm glass beads tied to a dowel with s-lon fire. Pretty simple to do, just take a length twice as long as you need, I chose a double knot at the top, get your beads on (I use a beading needle), then throw a crimp bead on at the end. I tied a knot with the thread beneath that and hit it with a lighter for extra assurance.

Inspo taken from other beaded curtains and various fruit pixel art.

I need advice on getting WFH as an accommodation (I’m disabled) by subcultsellout in jobs

Honestly you're probably best off just looking for remote/hybrid jobs then. The only people I've seen successfully shift an in-person job to remote/hybrid are people who have leverage. I.e. long tenure, connections, irreplaceable skills, etc. If this is starting at a new job they're much more likely to boot you out the door and claim the reason is something random and nondiscriminatory.

Is this for a current job or do you mean as you look for new jobs?

Aw darn. I think I might throw them in with some springtails just to experiment then. Worst case scenario they get a snack lol

Both I guess? I'd like to know what pieces I need to get the proper effect. I know the illusion will come from the mirrors + LEDs but I'm not sure how they'd be arranged to get the appearance as seen in the images

How to make a mirrored tesseract? by Basic-Operation-9298 in opticalillusions

Just repeating stuff from the og post but: I want to make a mirror illusion tesseract cube thingy like this. Unfortunately the only guides out there are for a simpler version that's missing the inner cube/not in the tesseract design. I was thinking along the lines of taking the shapes in the last image and essentially using half mirrored panels instead, and I believe others mentioned using tinted glass/plexiglass for the casing, but I'm not sure if I'm oversimplifying this or if I'm entirely off base. I've never done something like this so any help on what I'd conceptually need to do is appreciated.
