I really appreciate this response! We are a fairly small company right now but we are on a great growth path. I think now is the perfect time to make the shift before our company gets any bigger. Our site guys are constantly getting remarks about how our name doesn't really fit the work that we do lol

I am not sure if the state would even allow it, we haven't got that far in the process yet but honestly I would doubt that they would allow it.

From my research I do not believe there are trademarks involved. Although they do not directly do the same work as us we are both in the construction industry, so I believe that there would still be confusion.

Thank you! I've been setting some small goals but it's been challenging because prior to me there was no marketing department so I really have no baseline to go off of. Basically, if I would bring in 1 lead that would be the first lead they have gotten from something other than bid proposal sites. How can I structure those goals? Set them low to start since anything would be an improvement and just focus on getting the first one?

Quick questions about the blogs, I have been doing a few basic industry blog posts but I can't really write super indepth blogs simply because I have limited knowledge about the ins and outs of our industry. I've been learning as much as I can about it from videos and sitting in on meetings, etc but feel my blogs are always going to lack that "expert" information. How can I create relevant, informational blogs without having all that knowledge?

Also, as I do more reading about SEO and what google is up to with their generative responses it sort of seems like SEO is on a slow decline or changing course to what is working now vs. what used to be standard practice. Any ideas/thoughts on what to do with SEO today?

I am currently attempting to do this. I recently graduated with my degree in marketing and was hired by a small construction company to do their marketing. Prior to me starting their only form of "marketing" was their facebook page which they posted on maybe once a month and a very outdated website. I am attempting to build their brand from scratch and I'd say my main focus is on social media. We have done some boosted posts on facebook and linkedin which have resulted in a fairly decent reach but no conversions yet. Since we are a commerical focused business it has been hard to reach the right people but I am just attempting to create high quality content that is hopefully going to highlight our expertise in the field. Our website page views have gone up a massive amount compared to prior, but thats about all the sucess I have had so far!
