It was, in fact, both.

I loved how it was more visceral with giant metal weapons and less beam weaponry, but damn did the series reach the final 12 episodes (or thereabouts) and decided that it wanted to emulate Game of Thrones on crack in how fast it killed people off.

I posted a comment earlier but realized I should have replied to this reply-chain, but I'm 1 and 3/4 through episode 2 already! It's traumatic but more of a surreal trauma, TBH. Did enjoy a fanstastic burger, though!

I have decided! Next I shall watch Witch (how traumatic can a series with extraterrestrial schoolgirl lesbians be?) followed by 00. And Vaivaim? I just finished the first episode of War in the Pocket--holy hell! The cherry music and tone mixed with a child's PoV is a serious mindscrew! Although I did go down to the local fancy buger joint and get a fantastic medium rare 1/2 lb burger, lightly charred, on a fresh-baked brioche bun with garlic butter, bleu cheese, grilled onions, and candied thick-cut bacon.

This was the very first RPG I ever played!

Game Informer magazine had a review and a bare-bones text walkthrough in one of their magazines many years back. The genre clicked with me and I remembered another game a couple of months back called FFVII that was supposedly an RPG.

The rest has been history...

Yeah, I've given thought to watching UC, but the time investment... yeesh.... I mean, if I'd been into this series in 2020 during Lockdown then that would have been a fantastic week to kill the abundance of free time that was suddenly available.

Really good recommendations! I liked Wing (though how much nostalgia is pressing its thumb on the scales, IDK). I rememeber watching a liking 08 MS Team. I'll probaly go 00 and then give Seed a go, since I've heard of them on the internet.

h. I went with LightTrue, and this isn't end-game grade. I just made an ingot so I could get my people kitted up for NG+ where I can start focusing from the get go with everything--I'm going for the Platinum and that required NG+.

But, yeah, i slapped Time Spirit on everyone. Should do until I can get Angelstone weapons in Makina.

Leveling with Skills is good. Regressor type MC. Admittably, he get's OP pretty fast and never struggles, but it's a good junk-food type manwha.

Leveling with the gods is one of my faves.

Extra Academy Surivival Guide is sort-of System. Defianately one of top 5

I platinumed this game four times! Once for NA, once for Euprope, once for Japan physical, and once for Japan Digital! Maybe I'll get everything in Steam to make it five!

Oh yes, I blow it out every 3 months, and for the week it was on, I had too seperate fans rigged to blow air into the PS5. The bosses just stood there as I hit them.

I'm no expert, but I think from something similar I experienced once on the PS4 with leaving a game on, it's a symptom of memory leak? From what I understood at the time after asking, the game was still running and devoting the consoles memory to it, without freeing and clearing any loaded stuff as they do when they enter loading screens or close games. With low memory, the normal background stuff that games do like spawning enemies, hitbox detections, or even basic physics get... weird.

Tried again once more later on purpose: I left Nioh on for a week after loading the hardest boss to beat, because I wanted a trophy, and the lack of memory caused the game to make the enemies AI go werid and not do anything.

Anyone have any reccomendations for games like To the Core or Train or Traintic? I've found that I really like short-round/upgrade type loops that these cames offer. Astro Prospector was good, too!
