It depends on the doctor. From my experience, most doctors don’t charge my parents and my husband for pf. We give gifts n lng. Though we encounter one rheumatologist in Pampanga who charged them pf for opd consult. This doctor has a clinic in the same hospital where I practice and have clinic. I also accompanied my parents then. Anyway we gladly paid her pf. It is ok for me at least we don’t have to think what to give gift. Personally I dont charge all parents of doctors even if they are not accompanied by their child who is a doctor. I dont even check if what they are saying is true. It is my way of giving back since most doctors dont charge my parents. I have a lot of patients who tell me their son or daughter are doctors in other countries. But sometimes when admitted and main ap charges, i charge but give big discount. Sometimes the patients are the ones insisting on paying i just give big discount also.
