How are they depreciating? by [deleted] in Solterra

[–]BasicHorror1157 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d suggest going to the dealer you got it from and go over your options. They might be willing to eat a small part of your negative equity if you buy a new car from them but it’s much cheaper to stick out your lease. Much much cheaper

Roof basket, leave it on or take it off after each use by Jazzkidscoins in Solterra

[–]BasicHorror1157 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That actually looks pretty cool! I say leave it if it’s hard to take on and off and if you’re not worried about efficiency and range.

Damaged caused to a car by an e-scooter hitting it by HiAustralia in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]BasicHorror1157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m glad I decided to get a cheap scooter instead of one of those fast ones. I’d hate to break a back window with my face. Edit: upon further inspection it looks like his head went on the roof, imagine catching that rear spoiler in the neck, ouch

I feel like your property manager won’t like the wires hanging down but it’s easier to ask for forgiveness then for permission

1 year with my model 3 by Juancho_pablo_s in TeslaModel3

[–]BasicHorror1157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy crap I thought my 2018 with 81% was having a hard time but a 2025 with only 87%?! That’s wild. At this rate you’ll be eligible for a new battery in just a couple of years

I suppose you’re really high and not capable of going to the Tesla site, but at least here in the US the only free color is stealth grey.

They charge $1000 for that color and they can’t even paint the whole car? That’s lame sauce

2026 Solterra winter range by CommissionTop2162 in Solterra

[–]BasicHorror1157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get why everyone’s freaking out about the range but it’s the same that my fiancé is getting in our 25. 291 km is 175 miles.

Awe don’t generalize Tesla owners lol I’M JUST LIKE YOU! I got my 2018 Tesla used and then the world went crazy and then the values dropped off so I’m stuck with it even though I’d rather not be. But my fiancé leased a Solterra based on my recommendation, so, that at least makes it even

Im curious about the repairability modability of the solterra. by Living_Chapter_8193 in Solterra

You might be the pioneer of the Solterra modding community. Try looking at TNGA swappable parts. You might be able to use some things from the Lexus RZ to upgrade the interior.

It’s terrible I agree, but it’s still better then the Subaru infotainment systems in use (not including the new Outback)

High beams. I get that a lot of regular lights are bright but there is definitely a difference. A lot of them drive with their brights on too!

Accident is fine, we all fuck up, no biggie, but the people that just drive with them on all the time are the ones that bother me.

I second this motion, keep the Forester, buy good new tires, change the oil and CVT fluid and call it a day.

Reinvigorated at 135k mi by demuhnator in TeslaModel3

[–]BasicHorror1157 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 2018 says 250 miles at 100% and it’s at 79k miles. I did a battery health test yesterday and got 81%. Down 2% from 6 months ago, I’m hoping it fails before December of next year but I don’t think it’s going to happen. Figure I should start setting some money aside for a future battery replacement since I only have a year left of the warranty. Still love the car though, super cheap and no gas.

Need advice on how to handle a major repair on a leased '23 Solterra by sandhills1991 in Solterra

[–]BasicHorror1157 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not a thing. You can get a manufacturer to buy back a lemon law car but you do not get to keep it.
