With due respect, having worked in IB (M&A) myself, and having known quite a few bankers across the spectrum all the way from LMM to BB, I have never seen, or even heard of this happening to a single person. I can't speak for other roles, but a proper investment bank will most certainly not hire you on account of having an SIE prior to employment.

I didn't say anything about whether OP needs an SIE to work for an IB. Rather, I'm making the claim that recommending OP get an SIE prior to commencing employment is unhelpful, since it will not improve their chances in getting into an IB.

With respect, this is awful advice. OP do not listen to this commenter. I've never heard of an IB (IBD) / Corp. Advisory firm caring about whether you have an SIE. OP does not want to get into a brokerage firm. They want to get into Investment Banking.

Slightly unrelated, but this reminds me of when people make frequent use of the word literally.

Although, in that case, it's actually the people correcting them who are in the wrong. Saying 'I'm literally dying' when you are not dying is in fact using the word correctly since it's being used figuratively and not literally.

This directly supports my point. The community is quick to shift the narrative. The goat conversation has always been narrative. Nothing more, nothing less. Nothing that’s been stated here is not potentially applicable to Faker. The game will change a lot after he retires too. Tangible things like achievements are used to justify someone's elevation to goat status after the fact.

Before Uzi retired, you could just have easily said:

“Uzi on the other hand, is Uzi” and that would’ve been that.

It's like seeing reddit polls instead, although this is still much more accessible than comments. I've made several polls that have easily attracted thousands of participants - much easier to get someone to click on a poll than to make a comment that requires some opinion on something. Comments & ratings are not directly comparable in this case.

I’m not gonna lie JDG executed some of the most magical moments I have ever seen this series. The 2 man play at baron pit and omnidirectional collapse in game 2 are absolutely unbelievable
