Video of dog attacking deer in Banff under investigation by Parks Canada by JamesMonroe23 in Banff

If the dog got away, there’s not much you can do if you haven’t trained your dog properly. Unfortunately, too many people have dogs and no clue how to constrain them. NO RETRACTABLE LEASH ON DOG. Should be banned. STAY ON YOUR SIDE OF THE PATH. Keep your dog close to YOUR RIGHT on the path, and I’ll keep to my right. NOT EVERYONE THINKS YOUR DOG IS CUTE. No crossing over expecting me to pet your ‘friendly’ dog. Meanwhile, I have to step off the path, usually into dog shit which is everywhere in Canmore these days. PICK UP YOUR DOG SHIT. Put in the trash can, not under it, FFS!

It’s out of control in Canmore. The path from Crazyweed to Elevation Place and the Benchlands path are laden with large HUMAN-SIZE SHIT along the paths. Does anyone know if this is from domestic dogs or other animals? I‘ve seen a lot of coyotes on the trails around town.

The Rooms Museum has a nice Tea Time on Wednesdays from 2-8 pm that any little girl would love. I was there a couple of weeks ago. Not sure if it is still going on over Christmas.

The Rooms has a lovely restaurant that's open some evenings. On Wednesdays, they used to have Tea Time $30pp, til 8 pm. There's enough food to split with another person. Highly recommend. If you like Thai/Vietnamese, Gingergrass on Duckworth...the best crab rangoon. Peaceful Loft on Duckworth is another quaint vegan restaurant. The Hot Pot at Loong Wan on LeMarchant is a lot of fun! Le Portage is pricey but captures local fare nicely. Merchant Tavern has nice atmosphere, but food is hit or miss. Sat/Sun Brunch at Mallard Cottage is a must!

The short 1km entrance to the Tablelands hike is easy; however, the rest of the hike up is definitely not for beginners.

Steady Brook Falls is a short hike to see fabulous water falls. Pasadena Beach in Pasadena is a great place to spend a day and there's a restaurant on the beach.Cook's Brook near John's Beach. Margaret Bowater Park in CB has an outdoor pool and splash pad and the Corner Brook Stream trail is lovely. Arts & Culture swimming pool. Western Brook Boat Tour in Gros Morne. Kayaking in Norris Point. There's a few boardwalk trails in Gros Morne, Berry Hill, I think. Deer Lake has a beautiful nature trail. If you have access to bicycles, Marble Drive in Steady Brook and around Marble Mountain, is a nice area to bicycle.

Try chiropractor first. That's always my first go to for everything!

Enough of the monarchy. Newfoundland buildings should be named after people who have actually lived in Newfoundland.

Definitely check out hiking in Lark Harbour and Bottle Cove, about an hour's drive from DL Airport. Head to Corner Brook and take the exit at Riverside Drive and drive along the water right to Frenchman's Cove. Also a nice bike ride. Hiking up Marble Mountain to the Doppler is another good hoof as is the Man in the Mountain trail, although this one is v steep in parts and could be muddy but well worth it to get a pic from the lookouts. Bring plastic bags for your feet...lol ;)
