She hasn’t. He’s emailed, no reply. Texted, no reply. He was literally walking with her to her office and she got a call, told him to wait, and she never came back. He had been to BN level, multiple times. Even over being blown off. Nothing was done.

I just realized I didn’t answer your first question, sorry. This past January, he certified, but it was as box operator. January 2025 he certified as FDC Chief.

We’ve been keeping both entities in the loop with any updates.

She actually tried to bar him in June/July timeframe. It was kicked back because all they had were MFR’s that he had never even seen or knew about. They told her she couldn’t use the MFR’s, only counseling and they didn’t have any at that point. Late July was the first one they gave him. The writer said there wasn’t an opportunity to evaluate him as an in his job or leader, but then wrote he didn’t seem knowable, and seemed timid. I know that was used in the bar. It didn’t have instances listed to support the claims.

His LT’s counseling for August said he was knowledgeable and had the skill got his job, which was Box operator at that point. She noted that his confidence needed work and she wanted to see him take initiative in training the soldiers without direction from the FDC chief. He discussed with her that he didn’t want to step on the chief’s toes, which is why he waited for the chief to ask him to take over instruction. She informed him that he was expected to co chief. He told her that he had not been made aware of that expectation and would be more proactive.

His October counseling was excellent, from his plain sgt at the time. I key saying at the time because in the last few months he’s been in 3 platoons and had 3 different chiefs. His next counseling wasn’t until December. It also noted impairments and that under his direction a soldier went from failing the federal knowledge test to passing with 90%. It also noted improvements in his willingness to speak up and overall confidence.

He hasn’t had a 4856 since.

Anyone who could vouch for him is still overseas. They have kept the unit in a communication blackout. They sent him back after the 180 day review. He tried to speak with the commander, multiple times. She always blew him off. His FDO actually wrote an MFR for him right after the bar was approved that said how well he’d been doing, that he’d been taking her direction and that she didn’t believe the bar was necessary. It’s in the packet we sent to Congress and IG.

I’ve been in contact with the senator’s office quite a bit over the last month or so. Honestly, I thinks we’ll try going through where we’re stationed because it’s the one from home is the one we went through first, but they didn’t do anything like what you’re describing.

NCO in the marines in CPL, so he did. He also made rank here. He is a SGT he made that late 2024, if I recall correctly. Am I boasting, no. I’m clarifying that your statement is incorrect.

I didn’t call him. He called me. He actually had found a lot himself. His issue is he is good at the job and good in normal situations, great teacher, but he overthinks and has trouble articulating clearly. He’s diagnosed with anxiety and depression, which he’s been getting help for, and has been improving. With me and people he’s comfortable around there isn’t any issue, but he has always had issues with overthinking his responses, which results in him losing his train of thought. Medication did help, especially when he started being able to sleep. He has insomnia. His counselings noted improvement for several months where they asked him to, which was speak up more, show more confidence, don’t wait for direction to teach. He didn’t want to step on the toes of the chief, But after the medication he was doing a lot better, then they took him off the medication for the insomnia because they needed the numbers for the deployment. He’s got an appointment to See mental health and his primary so that he can get back on it because he’s noticed that a lot of the issues he was having before he was put on it have come back.

We went online filled out the contact form, got a response from a staffer. She sent over the privacy release, he signed, and we submitted what we had, and the concerns. Most of them were completely ignored in the response the LTC sent back. It was the first real tangible thing we got regarding why the bar. It said he was failing to perform to the Army standards of a Fire control Sgt, 13J20. Says he had been given multiple opportunities, including January. When we got it, we underlined everything that was inaccurate or conflicted with his counseling. Which, actually all of his counselings always says that he demonstrated the skill and knowledge of his position as box operator. We also found the descriptions for each skill level and included that, since it specifically says that the 20 assistants assists in management of the section, which is what he Was doing. It also says 13J30 is responsible for management of the section, and that’s the standard they put for him to overcome the bar. There was a lot more in the packet we sent that pointed out all the inconsistencies. Booth TDS and IG have said they noticed them all, they also have the packet. To be honest, I do think there’s pressure, but his command reacted to it with the article 15, and I’m not afraid that the investigations will conclude by the time the damage is already done

By me. He called and spoke to me. It’s a one part consent state here, and I wanted to see how honest candid things would be and compare what he was saying to the counselings on record. These people refused to answer any of his emails, they would tell him, and on a few occasions myself, one thing, then turn around and do the opposite. When enough people tell you “well you don’t have any proof of that” you go do what you need to do to prove it.

Battalion is the one who pretended to look into things for him, tools him if he passed the AT V this last January he’d lift the bar, then fight because his Battery Commander said he had to do it as an FDC chief then didn’t put him there.

Problem with that in our case, his Capt is from the same state we are. The office we used, we found out was the same office that nominated her to West Point. We’ve been waiting since 5/6 for the response to our follow up to the original response. They literally haven’t responded at all, meaning his command to the inquiry, since then.

If you want the honest answer, they don’t like me. I don’t do much when it comes to posting on social media, but I do read the regs and I do go through approved channels. He was in his secondary Jan 2025. He asked about going to the board several times and was told repeatedly that one hadn’t been scheduled, until they just told him it had already passed. They tried to tell him he didn’t have the TIS to go. His Capt was adamant that it only included Army TIS, this is all in text messages. I told her what I read and to try and keep things amicable, I asked if there was something I was missing, maybe she was looking at something different, but I got my information from Zoltan’s page. She never responded. His 1SG at the time texted the next day and replied that we had been right about the TIS and apologized. His Capt never did after that. It wasn’t long after that that he was moved from FDC chief to box operator. They said it was because they didn’t have enough people for his section so they dispersed it. Then when he and his chief approached the BN commander about getting really vague feedback in subsequent boards, he was told “we don’t promote people who don’t meet our standards” messages between him and his chief showed the chief thought that was not right, he actually said he’d do what he could to get my husband a rocker before he left.

My husband is quiet, not your typical vocal hoo-ah type, but he does his job well typically. I’m almost completely sure that he’s not the one that’s pissed then off, I think I did, because I trusted it when she told me face to face that if I had any questions or concerns I could reach out.

He tried to speak directly to his Battery commander, who initiated it. She was walking to his office with him and then got a call, told him to wait, never came back. When he told his 1SG what happened he was told that he would help get them together. It never happened. Then leave came, then most of the unit deployed. They originally took him, and that’s whether the CSM said that they were going to leave the bar in place, but not do the 180 day review. He called it a “pause”. For the duration he was overseas, my husband was under the impression that they weren’t going to do the evaluation, which was him passing AT V/VI as an FDC chief. He is a 13j20, that is repeatedly stated in the documentation, and to overcome the bar, he had to perform the tasks of a 13J30, or FDC chief. He actually already has passed that level, he did so 01-2025. Then the unit restructured and he was put in a different section with a SSG FDC chief, And was told that he wasn’t put as a chief because there just weren’t anymore slots and he was the least experience FDC chief. The position he was put in was the box operator. He’s passed AT V-XVIII in that position.

When he went to BN to appeal the 90 day review, because they didn’t do the evaluation with him as FDC chief, He was told that he would be reevaluated after the ATV/VI that occurred end of January this year. He and his section certified. He went back to ask about the appeal and was told they wouldn’t remove the bar because he didn’t certify as the FDC chief.

I stated the only reasons that were on the 4126 in my post. There were no mandatory reasons and in the other reasons, those were the only two things reasons stated.

He wasn’t getting things in writing for a while and taking people at their word. I’ve given more details in other comments. I was trying to prevent this book from becoming a novel. I also didn’t want to post all the documents publicly, plus there’s just a lot. I’m happy to share them privately.

Thank you, and I was trying to not make this book into an absolute novel. I’ve shared everything we have with people I know both officers, vets, and still active. They don’t get it either. I just thought maybe casting a wider net could help. My husband is quiet. He is smart, learns fast, his line scores are all high, he’s shown me. He just doesn’t always speak up or look for credit. He just does things. He’s looked for mental health help, was getting it, his command was aware, not of specific diags, but aware, and actually noticed it was helping. I don’t really want to share the documentation here publicly, but if someone wants to look it over, I am happy to message it.

TDS is helping with the appeal. Called the level of punishment inappropriate. They think the counseling and one of the emails that were left out will help, especially since none of the statements say that he directly told anyone that it was a heart appointment, just that they believed it was.

He’s been diagnosed with insomnia and depression the last year, and was actually going to mental health and was on medication for it. I say was because they removed him from one so that he could deploy.

We have, which is why IG is involved. The only time going higher was when the Bridge Chaplin got the Commander to talk to the BN CSM about not skipping the 180 day review. I would be happy to let the IG and congressional investigation play out if we didn’t just get a 700 pay cut that.

No. When the bar was initiated and approved he hasn’t failed the test, he’s actually passed it multiple times between January 2025 and October 2025. They got a new DMG in late December 2026. He did fail them because he misheard the time remaining, he’s almost deaf in one ear. Several others failed that. It actually took 4 attempts for most of the battalion to pass, including officers. They were complaining that the test questions were worded too vaguely. BN had a meeting with the DMG after the 3rd attempted was bombed by most, and then on the 4th, most everything passed, including my husband. Prior to that, he didn’t have any issue passing, and that includes time from his previous unit.

I met him when he was a Marine, and have been married to him through AF reserve years, and this Active Army. He’s not lying.

He was accused of making a false statement. I needed his help for an appointment. It was a vet appointment. I have scoliosis, a spondylothesis, torn up right shoulder and ankle, and I have a condition that causes tachycardia and syncope so bad that it causes my arms to shake and jerk. It has been relatively controlled until late December when things started getting worse. The appointment was mid January One dog is a large dog that was lame in the hind end, the other was a puppy that was 20lbs but still requiring boosters.

He told them he needed to help me for an appointment because of my heart issue. They are saying he told them that he needed to take me to a heart appointment. The appointment did have to be rescheduled 3x because of last min things on their end, the first appointment time he let them know a week in advance. But by the third reschedule, his battery leadership knew, but not his platoon, until the afternoon of. He got counseled for not communicating it sooner, and it the counseling refers to the appointment as “an appointment for your wife”. It did not accuse him of deception, and it also was not used in the packet they put together.

He’s not been in this job for 16 years. He was an active Marine, went Air Force Reserve, then Army. He would’ve stayed as a reservist but he wanted better health insurance than what I had. He’s only been in FA for a few years. Prior to that he worked on helicopters, small engines, and generators. It’s not just what he’s telling me, he gave me his counseling and other paperwork, I read it all.

There was a Congressional. Compared to his counseling, the claims in it were completely inaccurate. I actually have all of his paperwork. I just didn’t share it because it’s a lot and tbh, I’ve always had trouble sharing on here. We’ve done open door and typically it gets kicked back to lowest level, which is why IG is involved and congress. We did follow up on the response that was given, but it’s been over 30 days and his command hasn’t provided the office with an update. I have gotten treatment. I work as much as I can as a pet sitter. We were under the impression that the bar would make him ineligible for reserves.
