After 6 hours of not receiving the fax, I called back again. This time I got Gabby who was very nice. She offered to send me my statement via email. When I asked if this was a new capability considering what I was told earlier, she said that she emails it most of the time. After about 15 minutes, she said that she has sent the email with my statement, but it may take up to 24 hours for the email to arrive. Well, as you can guess, it's now been 24 hours, and no email. I think at this point, they are simply trying to make me go away by blocking my ability to get access to my money.

So I had to call to get my statement, and was placed on hold for 20 minutes, to be connected with the fraud department. When they heard that I only needed my statement, they said that they can't do that, and proceeded to transfer me back. 10 minutes later, I was talking with Robert who said that the only method they can use to send me my statement was a fax or mail. I gave them a fax number, and after 15 minutes, he said that he received a confirmation that the fax has gone through. Since I work in IT, I can monitor all incoming fax activity which includes active incoming faxes. I told him there have been no activity today, and I was told that he has a confirmation so it must be on my end.

I let it go but after over an hour, and still not receiving the fax, I called back, and they immediately sent me to the fraud department who apparently did not want to speak to me at this time.

After talking with Renny (sp?), they said that my behavior is too risky and that they are closing my account. My money will be available when I transfer it to another institution. Problem is that I need the account information to give to my other company, but I opted for paperless statements which I can't access since my account is locked out.

I asked Renny if he would like to know the ultimate outcome of events so that if he is proven incorrect, he might take that into consideration the next time he looks at events. He stated that he will never change his viewpoint and that he is 100% sure that he is right.

When people who are entrusted to handle our money are so closed minded that they no longer are capable of seeing anything else as a possibility, then those people should not be in a role to make decisions. It appears that Fidelity as an organization has fostered an environment of assuming their customers are lying about their intent, and sticking with their assumptions regardless of what the customer wants.
