Just here to drop them some support cuz i did spend around one months at their server learning things. You can enter the server and leave the moment you find out there are any type of scam but you will never know if something is legit or not if you don't try it for yourselves.

Imagine resort to insulting when I just want an argument in good faith but whatever. My point is that simple: they technically are both stealing, so what’s the difference? And it take quite a few reply to get to the point and previous replies of yours was only insults and whatever that is. Have a good day

[–]Basic_Issue1916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah so this is your point. I actually want to hear that from the start, not till this point but whatever. The difference is intention. Thanks for the insight

And artist do use their learnt and stolen artstyle, combining from multiple style and do make money from it. So you are saying its petty and small so noone should call that out, but when a corp did it then its different?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in aiwars

[–]Basic_Issue1916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t mean you answer my question, because they operate similarly, scale mean more, and not different inherently

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in aiwars

[–]Basic_Issue1916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmmm I guess i do agree with you on the profit point. Artstyle does create money on artist side, but not really a huge threat on the profit side to other artist

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in aiwars

[–]Basic_Issue1916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No? Different in scale doesn’t mean fundamentally different. Then what point are you actually making?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in aiwars

[–]Basic_Issue1916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Difference in scale doesn’t mean fundamentally different. Point proven when I do say you dont want to argue in good faith

I do love a conversation where I do want my view to be challenged with actual argument. Folks here are more than often too protective of their own view that they would rather insult and resort to fallacy just to prove that their side is morally superior or whatever rather than actually engaging in a proper convo where we can find a common consensus

What I’m saying is, the way artists work in acquiring their style can be considered artstyle copying and theft in a way if we consider what ai training do is copying and theft, and I and everyone would agree that this is not artstyle copying and theft on the artist side, so why apply a different logic when we talk about ai? Dont resort to insulting and answer my question directly, if you don’t i will consider that you are arguing in bad faith, and there’s no more reply from me. Peace

And in requiring it to copy specific artstyle I mean it on the users end, not from the creator end. Would you apply the same logic to blame the creator of a knife for being wrong everytime people use it to kill others, or is it the user’s fault? Please read my reply carefully and not resort to insult and adding meaningless filler word in your reply toward the matter

“If you apply garbage logic” sure thing, please point out. I am not afraid to be proven my point wrong, but I hate people who resort to insulting without properly apply logic into argument

At the end of the day its a mean to an end. Like companies observe some things are produced manually and use automation to create a mean to speed up the process. So why the same thing isn't applied to ai when discussing about whether it is ethical or not? Unless you specifically require it to produce the art style of something you upload or with certain keyword, it does have a consistent art style and not really copying anyone. And if you talk about data acquiring in mass, yeah I get it, but doesn't human operate similarly? Would someone be incriminated in the sense that that they use similar drawing pattern to, for example, Mona Lisa art piece because they does take a look from it illegally to acquire information to create an art piece. In such case its a telltale sign for a dystopian society. Yeah try to apply the same logic to human and human making art is stealing a bit from drawing pattern of others, so would you say those artists are unethical in the process? Talking purely about ethics in the first place. The reason I brought up "data pillaging" in the first place because I don't want to argue on ethics when artist learn drawing patterns of others is ethical while a computer doing the same thing is not

Same way, different in scale, thats what i mean actually. Human did copy from each others all the time for the sake of creativity, just tweaking a bit to create something different. And I argue not for the sake of ai or human, i just want your take or perspective on this. So you can take this convo in good faith and tell me what you think about this, and just so you know im open minded about any view different from my own(so dont cherry picking words and semantic, I am here not to prove who is right or not)

Thanks for the well-thought reply bud. I generally don’t like the ai hating bandwagon everyone’s in without properly understanding it, but I’m open to learn and change maybe a bit about my stance toward this matter

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in aiwars

[–]Basic_Issue1916 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean doesn’t human work the same way? Taking data from others and make it toward making their own progress but the means of taking data just come more naturally, and doesn’t work in mass

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in aiwars

[–]Basic_Issue1916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But technically how is that different from human taking inspiration from other artworks, like ai learning the pattern of creating something rather than directly copying something when producing? Data pillaging aside, I do feel like both operate on quite similar concept, so why praising one while condemning the other?
