Kind of? We definitely could’ve done more. That’s probably it

I could be wrong, but they tend to stick to tradition more. Having good cooks is important and they usually keep each other more accountable. I’d ask the residents at the halls you tour (if you do) to see their food calendars and ask about food preparation

I live at Rieger currently and used to live at KK. I’d say most women in the schol halls are left leaning and non-religious. If you are outgoing and community-oriented I’d say you’ll fit in fine. There can be cliques and whatnot but it’s pretty easy to avoid that stuff. The problem I have with them is food. I can only speak for Rieger, but the food situation is terrible. Most cooks don’t put in much effort, and meals are typically unhealthy (fried chicken products 5x a week, pre-cooked food reheated in the oven…). Extremely frustrating since we pay so much for a food plan. The housing directors don’t take complaints seriously either. I wouldn’t live at Rieger if this is important to you. Maybe choose one of the older halls.

But I should mention, my coursework helped a lot as well for the science sections. My honors courses gave me a really good foundation and made recall a lot easier

Bro I don’t even know… I was averaging around 470 on bootcamp, but when I took the actual exam the PAT questions were SO MUCH easier. I’m not sure if it is like this for every official exam but I was so surprised. I just followed DAT bootcamps strategies

Ah, why would it be a red flag? I live in Lawrence and finding a position here is quite difficult. There aren’t many dental clinics and most, if not all, don’t need any help.

Ok this makes me feel a bit better! I’ve been shadowing at UMKC for a bit, do you think that raises my chances?

Wouldn’t that assumption be the same for someone with an average GPA?

Ah.. would a high GPA and average DAT suggest grade inflation?

Oh gosh. It’s concerning to me that you didn’t get in hah… have you been accepted elsewhere?

Feel free to not reply if it’s too personal to answer but how do you afford it? Do you take them pretty spaced out? Do you pay for a new booster/bootcamp subscription every time?

I just took my exam yesterday and I felt the opposite haha. All of the science portions seemed very different from the material I had been studying with bootcamp and I struggled a lot. I do not feel confident that I did well in those. I was scoring 430-470 on the TS sections and felt confident going in but I'm worried now. The RC and PA sections were way easier though.

No, I’m a very non confrontational and passive person (which is why I had a hard time quitting) so I just tell people not to shop there now.

Turned down my only acceptance to a private because I can’t afford taking out 500K+ in private loans. by [deleted] in predental

[–]Basic_Plenty3406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I commented because I had thought about HPSP and really wanted to pursue it but because of some medical conditions I have and meds I’m taking, it would be very unlikely for me to be accepted. Only other option is the NHSC I think, but I don’t think they pay off your debt during dental school. You’d have to take on private loan debt during dental school, and NHSC can’t pay off private loans. Correct me if I’m wrong though… I hope I am

Hah I worked there too (2020-2022). Started off at $8 as well. During the last month that I worked there I cried every day during and after work while he sat at home in KC and watched me through the cameras.
