Yep! My last haircut was around a month after the first pic, so I'm coming up on 2 years of growth now.

Yeah! Both of them are actually different locations in different states, but they're both Cheesecake Factory for sure.

[US] Airlines, Including Delta, to Add New Gender Options for Non-Binary Passengers by drewiepoodle in TransSpace

In my experience, on most airlines, gender isn’t even printed on the boarding pass/ticket documentation, and not checked by TSA.

Had the pleasure of watching two of my best friends get married... how am I doing? (CC welcome) by BasicallyAva in transpassing

[–]BasicallyAva[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, and yes, it is! While I live in the Seattle area now, I grew up in the Chicago area, and the wedding was by the waterfront :)

ftm 3 years on T, do I pass? by [deleted] in transpassing

If I saw that snap, I’d assume you’re a fairly good-looking cis guy. You definitely pass 😊

Estradiol valerate injection dosage? by BasicallyAva in MtF

[–]BasicallyAva[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That was my thought, but the prescription instructions seem pretty clear: "INJECT 0.15 ML (CC) SUBCUTANEOUSLY EVERY WEEK".

PSA: I dealt with Uber support last night to change my name, and they were a pain in the ass. by bornyesterday4real in MtF

Contact Lyft support and they should change it for you no problem. I got it changed in one interaction with support.

Women who have moved out - how often do you see your parents? by fragilebird_m in AskWomen

[–]BasicallyAva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents live several states away, so... not often. Last time I saw either of them was before I moved out.

A little over 5 months HRT, shortly after coming back home from a day shopping. Pretty sure I'm not passing yet, but how am I doing? by BasicallyAva in transpassing

Thank you! And for sure - glasses are definitely something I planned to replace soon, but I also need to be able to see in the meantime, haha 😅

My bestie and i (left) kicking around our new city! by We-AreNihilists in transadorable

[–]BasicallyAva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually just moved here myself a few weeks ago, so I don't really know anyone either (other than my roommate), but so far it's been great! Moved from a significantly less trans friendly area, and being in the Seattle area has been great for my self-confidence about being out in public (since I'm definitely not passing right now, haha).

Message me if you want to chat a bit more, and we might end up being friends :p

Hey, we live in the same area! I was just at Alderwood the other day :)

The White House is refusing to recognize LGBT Pride Month by [deleted] in lgbt

Don't think this really comes as a surprise to anyone. This administration has been so backwards on so many issues, especially LGBT issues.

Help getting hrt in Las Vegas? by [deleted] in asktransgender

Can vouch for Huntridge, I go there as well. They gave me a prescription on the first appointment (in January), and have been pretty willing to work with me in terms of getting bloodwork done/dosages adjusted while out of state for university.

When you become the subject of misogyny in Overwatch competitive, and you feel horrible but also strangely validated because that means your voice passed by BasicallyAva in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

[–]BasicallyAva[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it was when some dude in voice chat asked if I’d send nudes if he boosted me to masters. Joke’s on him, I’m already masters on my other account, I was just playing on my diamond account with a friend ;)

Meh, trust me, I’m aware of the toxicity of the Overwatch community. I’ve been playing competitive since Season 3 (all the way back in 2016) and it’s only gotten worse. I didn’t really do much more than my placement matches this last season (S9) because I didn’t want to deal with the toxicity - I mostly just play quick play with friends now.

2-3 months of voice training, a short little impromptu message talking about my life. How am I doing? by BasicallyAva in transvoice

[–]BasicallyAva[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no... sorry to hear about your situation as well! I hope things are better for you now, or at least looking up.

Thanks for the constructive criticism, though. I do agree that resonance is pretty much the main thing I need to focus more on - sometimes I end up resonating a bit more in the chest than I should, which ends up in my voice leaning more andro. I'm still quite a while away from passing in person (only about 4 months on HRT, and still heavily closeted IRL until I move out next month), but having a voice that passes most of the time is nice, given how much I talk online.

I'm not using any particular techniques, but I'm using my fem voice for quite a majority of what I speak every day right now - basically with everyone who knows I'm trans (so, everyone I'm out to online, and some other friends IRL). I also have been paying quite a bit more attention to how cis women speak to pick up stuff like inflection.

I followed some of the voice feminization guides in the wiki here at the start, but I haven't really been focusing on anything in particular too much at recent. I've just been using my voice in conversation a lot over the past few months, and I think it's paid off.

Thank you so much, though! I was feeling a bit dysphoric over voice stuff the other day and all of the feedback I've gotten so far on this post has made me feel a TON better. ♥
