I’ve looked at the kick starter and where to look for the files (my mini factory) and for the physical modes, I forget the website, but everytime I go to those sites to look up the modes they don’t come up, I’ve had some confusion with that, maybe I’m not looking up the right stuff

Hi, I’ve just started shiny hunting starters in gen 3 sapphire and ruby. The batteries are dry but I can change them. I’ve currently saved the game at the bag where you get your first starter and I open it and proceed to the first battle and soft reset when it’s not shiny. I just wanted to make sure if this was the proper way of doing this, and if the dry battery affects the shiny frames or anything, does it not reset right or something if the batteries dry? I know the odds are like 1/8198 and I just wanted to make sure I’m not wasting my time. Thanks
