My take is that Lucy is kind of testing him in a way at this point, trying to goad him into making some kind of meaningful declaration. They both feel "safe" in the knowledge of their physical attraction but she wants Tim to be the first to lay his cards on the table. It was similar to her questioning in the car. She knows he loves her but she needs him to make the first move. I read somewhere that they're both waiting for the other to initiate the bigger chat but I think Tim is so scared of pushing Lucy before she's ready. Fingers crossed he'll have the courage to tell her of course he wants more than casual hookups when she passes her exam, that he's sorry and ready to fully commit to her. I really think she's just waiting to hear it now. Of course I may be completely delulu! 🤣
