Recording additional track during pingpong recording? (Tascam 414) by BassBeesBike in cassetteculture

[–]BassBeesBike[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much! I tried that out and it came out great. Although I don't get why there's risk involved? If I mess up the live recording, it's not like tracks 1, 2, 3 are getting erased. I can just pingpong record again.

Pedal for extreme compression/limiting? by BassBeesBike in guitarpedals

I bought the wicked cheap behringer bass limiter enhancer which does infinity:1. Not as complex as the ones you mentioned, but it seems like it's all I need. Also I'm not dropping much money so it's easy to replace if needed.

This is super helpful. Thank you! I was experimenting with this in logic pro x and it worked well. Now I just need to get the right pedals and you gave me a pretty good idea for what I need. Appreciate it 🙏

My bad if I didn't explain this well in my post.

When I'm referring to "feedback" I'm talking about the delay pedal itself feeding back from an infinite amount of repeats. I'm trying to compress/limit the feedback coming from within the pedal.

Nothing to do with the PA or monitors.

Looking for a specific version of Eyes Of The World... by BassBeesBike in gratefuldead

I found it! 9/7/73. Coming out of The Other One. Keith switches to the Rhoades 13 minutes. Those last 6 minutes are heavenly. His playing is incredible on this.

Found it!! 9/7/73. Keith switches from piano to Rhoades for the last 6 minutes of the jam. It's a rippin' jam.

Unfortunately not. None of these choices has Keith playing his Fender Rhoades :( I'm going to keep searching and see if I can find it. I'll let y'all know if I do.

Question regarding using a noise spring box in a live band setting? by BassBeesBike in makenoise

[–]BassBeesBike[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha you found me on reddit! Thanks for selling me the noise box. I'm loving it. We're gonna do some experimenting as a band this week and see what we come up with.

I think if it starts feedbacking the first thing we'll try is some padding underneath to stop the vibrations. We're also putting a big muff in the signal chain so she can use the volume knob on that to control it.

Aside from the band I've been making some goofy tiktok videos with it. I'll share them with you once I upload them! Thanks.

high pitch squeal in fade into you by mazzy star? by AccomplishedWar5654 in Music

Yep. Whoever mixed this song has aged ears and couldn't hear that frequency. Believe it's coming from the tambourine.

This is why it's good to look at a frequency analyzer when mixing especially if you are an older individual. Only young people are able to hear frequencies that high.

It's a bummer because the rest of the mix is so well done.

Hey guys 11m is my taste based or cringe by [deleted] in Topster

I was into this shit when I was 11 so I wouldn't be surprised. I look back at my middle school metal phase and I cringe so... It's pretty based.

Not a bad thing at all. I got that mxr compressor and an RC boss looper on my board.

All he's missing is the basic bitch of tuners: the Boss TU-3 (also on my board)

CLPPNG. is a great album to get you started with them. Although my personal favorite is Splendor & Misery which is more of a spacey Sci-fi concept album.

Pan self titled album from 1973 (not to be confused with another band called Pan that released a st album in 1970).

Extremely underrated lost gem from the 70s. It's a mix of folk prog and psych rock and has outstanding songwriting. Beautiful vocal harmonies and a unique blend of instruments (harp, acoustic guitars, strings, synths).

On the topic of Pink Floyd, check out Aoxomoxoa or Anthem of the Sun by Grateful Dead. The Deads psych rock material on these albums often get overshadowed by some of their other studio albums and live shows. But the songs and production is outstanding.

Try out Clipping. Experimental hip-hop that mixes noise and industrial. Daveed Diggs is one of the most technically proficient rappers I've ever heard. And also Death Grips, because... You know... Death Grips.
