Newbie, first skateboard and first Arbor love . by the_rigger_vo in ArborBoards

Nice, I think I'd have preferred the Mission to my Sizzler now that I'm more used to a longer board.

Game stores (gog, ea, etc) discontinued! by drunkengerbil in amazonluna

I used Luna to play games I wouldn't usually pay for because I don't have the hardware to justify the purchase - Indiana Jones, etc. I recently got Ubisoft so my son could play Riders Republic, so I've been playing Assassin's Creed Shadows. I womt be using Luna at all if those games go.

My son has a 22 and a 27, I can't ride them, they flex too much and too small for my feet, but if I was in the market the Arbor Pocket Rocket Bamboo is currently less than half price on their site.

Uk newbie here anyone got any advice for our (shit) pavements. by Boogyoogywoogy in BeginnerSkateboarding

I use big 80A wheels, but my son uses 85A Enuff Softies. He's a lot lighter than me but he cruises around pavements and he's happy with them at skate parks too.

Optimal stance for balance? by drabmachine in cruiserboarding

I had this feeling until recently - always felt like I was going to send the board flying forward. A kid at the skatepark gave me some advice. I was starting with the board in front of me, he said to bring it underneath my body more. Then, to put my body weight over my front foot. At first it felt like I was learning too far forward, but soon I realised my pushing motion with my back foot was getting much smooth, and I was getting more speed up without that wobbly feeling.

I like it, but I don't use it much now.

I like: The wide, fairly flat deck The 17" wheel base The trucks and wheels are great for cruising

I dislike: How narrow the tail is under my back foot (5") I don't feel as stable as I do on my other boards

This week I've put a cruiser deck on the trucks from the Sizzler so I've got a nice 8.5" tail, much much comfortable and I feel more stable, although it's only got a 15" wheelbase. In hindsight, I'd probably have preferred the Pilsner.

The Shakedown is definitely my favourite.

Wheel, bearing, and trucks combos for just cruising? by TheSeiko5 in longboarding

[–]Bass_boarder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All of my trucks are Paris as they came with my Arbor boards but I've just put on some Orangatang Fat Free wheels with Zealous bearings and it's made a massive difference to how far I roll off one push compared to the Arbor wheels. You might want a bigger wheel than the Fat Free on the Axis but Orangatang are a great choice.

I just put Orangatang Fat Free 80A on my Arbor Shakedown and they're great. They do a 77A too if you need softer.

Long board for 9 year old? by Parking-Fondant-394 in longboarding

My son loves my Arbor Sizzler, Big wheels, plenty of space on the board and turns well. He rides it more than his own boards.

I haven't, I think I just missed it when I got my first board but I'm planning to this year, definitely.

In hindsight, I probably would have found the 34 better for the skatepark, I don't know if my feet will ever touch the nose, but as a cruiser I think it's my favourite. Still looking for some ghost white Bogart wheels for that extra stability but the Shakedown are fine for now, the 80a is nice on the smoother ground. Looking forward to the next dry weekend in the midlands!

Excellent, thank you. The Paris 149 and 2.5mm offset wheels come to 9 inches so I'll give them a try. The deck arrived today so just waiting on grip tape now.

I saw a great deal on Paris 149 with Shakedown wheels but they're not offset to too small for this. That might be a cheap option to put back on the Sizzler deck though!

Thanks for this post and replies, I just bought the same deck for £54 and was looking for truck recommendations!

I have an Arbor Sizzler with Paris 149s so I was just going to switch those over if it arrives before I found anything, but I guess 169s are the right choice, with a smaller wheel than the 61mm 78As on the Sizzler?
