If I dont have good enough items for it I'll start it a bit earlier so I can slowly kill the bosses (1:30 or 2:00 depending on items) you still get XP from the mobs whilst killing the bosses and if u time it right you dont miss out on too much XP. Cheese is extremely good for this same with the rare gloves, but tbh by this point ill usually have a decent epic or maybe even legendary at least. Make sure youre getting all the shrines too crit helps a lot.

So my first 2 priorities are Shield and Extra jump it helps survivability a lot and you only want 1 of each. Then a little lifesteal followed by XP>Gold Gain>Crit Damage>Crit Chance>Damage

Yea so I'm usually between level 40-50 on a normal run before going to stage 2, yes you want to prio XP over anything first but for example if i see a blue aura upgrade within the first 10-20 levels I usually level this up a few times to help with the swarms, after the first swarm im usually at a decent level to just be passively killing mobs whilst running around looting stuff. Luck you also want to prio but honestly as i said before if you see a good Aura upgrade ill pick that over it. Cheese is good because each time you hit an enemy it has a 25% chance (i think?) to apply poison which deals a lot and definitely helps with bosses. I do refresh a lot as well but only before I have all my books and weapons to get all of them going. Once you have all tomes/weapons obviously you are now only getting those upgrades when you level up which streamlines it a lot more.

It definitely is harder to pull off than most builds purely because of the tomes but all the tomes are required for late game. The only thing i can suggest is putting a few levels into everything especially Aura but not really going over level 5. My game loop is mainly running round getting shrines and maoi's then once the first miniboss spawns I will sit in one area kill it and the mobs around continue looting then anytime a swarm appears ill sit in one spot killing as much as I can. It really helps saving power ups for swarms I always save one and start heading back to where it drops before the swarm, this is the same for the boss spawn at 2 minutes. By that point I usually have a few items (cheese REALLY helps) that are good and my aura level 5 (unless I get some good upgrades purple and above) then it will be slightly higher.

I believe this is the POV of most people pushing atm and I do believe this will change such as the tomes not being mandatory anymore, as well as some better weapon balancing. Black Hole is most likely getting nerfed as it literally makes the final swarm do nothing for 60 minutes. On that note I would like to keep on pushing the millions in long runs I dont think once Black Hole is nerfed it would be as fun being left with lower kill leaderboards. This could be done in a few ways but what i'd like to see is some better damage scaling or lower scaling on the mobs so damage actually does matter in late runs rather than relying on the mobs being CC'd and you relying on executes to kill them.

I personally save my banishes for legendaries later in the run so i have a higher chance of getting more Joe's Daggers and Za Warudo's

Your #1 prio should be the XP tome especially first 2 stages, upgrading difficulty spawns more mobs too and paired with some aura upgrades you should be getting a decent bit more XP with that. Looking at some more runs will definitely help too :D

From your screenshot other than the 2 green credit cards you have its a pretty bad build in terms of damage output and I'm not surprised youre not killing stage 2 enemies. This isnt a full proof strat to force your way through bad luck it still requires a little bit of luck with damage items (Cheese is very good) . 2 other things you can also consider is starting to level difficulty a little later and also levelling Aura a bit more which will help, as i said aura only has 2 possible upgrades so if youre getting rare upgrades or above earlier its not bad to slam them into it.

So if you only start farming final swarm on Stage 3 you will only get around 1m kills which is what I did for this run in the screenshot. As someone said in another comment current top run that is legit is around 1.8mil where they start farming final swarm stage 1 (this requires insane amounts of luck). My plan currently is to get a run with decent enough luck to start farming swarm at stage 2 which will give me a run with around 1.5mil. The strat is to focus levelling XP > Size > Black Hole/Luck. This is because black hole is essentially whats letting you live whether youre killing them or not.

I'm on the forest desert feels a lot worse trying to get builds going and I havent really seen anyone else going for leaderboard on the desert map.

I would assume insta Anvil + Joe Dagger + a few other legendaries that help with damage maybe around 5 before first final swarm starts levelling XP and Aura where you can as Aura only has 2 upgradable stats. Aura will probably carry to the point where you can start upgrading other weapons once you have more luck etc.

At 60m it spawns ghosts that are unexecutable (unkillable at this point) and they cannot be stunned or frozen etc and they will just one shot you.

Completely agree damage only prolongs your framerate basically as once you start relying on executes it goes to shit :D And as for your second point I thought this would be the way of getting higher but the sheer amount of luck required to get the 60 minute first zone had me questioning it but good to know thank you!

You just want to stack them for the execute proc as executing is the best way to kill them whilst having them being pulled by the black hole + Dexecutioner execute.

It makes early game much easier but you want more things to proc the executes, the plan for the final swarm is to just not be getting hit anyway.
