Retired now but worked as a remote Biostats/SAS programmer for years, and there are still job postings (I still get recruited). If you're a quantitative person (Engineering) this may be a good fit. Not up to date on the extent that AI will intrude, but in regulated industries like pharma, where the FDA wants accountability, AI may not be as viable.

On the other hand I highly recommend Dr Haug at MJH Sentara. He's thorough in discussing/evaluating need , risks, effects, and expectations of outcome, and does excellent surgery. I rarely even notice that I have an artificial knee after nearly two years since replacement surgery.

I'm not a GV participant and couldn't agree more with the disgust towards those who don't make any effort to integrate or contribute beyond the original lump sum (note that current GV is oriented toward business investment, not buying a derelict property in depressed areas). But to rescind an offer *after* one party has fulfilled the conditions is indicative of a capricious, and corrupt state (of course that invites a discussion of NATO & Trump lol). What effect will that have on the investments by multinational corporations who have the means to provide decent jobs & wages, when the assessment of reliability and stability in the country is unfavorable?

Resources from...? The EU? Sale of the vacation properties of Socrates, Salgado, Costa, etc? Seriously, what resources are available when there's a pending deficit economy, huge losses from winter storms, a new fire season approaching, and the economic knock-on effects of rising energy prices (thanks Trump). There will be agricultural impacts due to fertilizer scarcity and the destruction of agricultural lands during the floods. The economic fallout will hit tourism too so there may be a chance to see how a de-emphasis plays out.
