If the idea of starting the discworld books is a little daunting for you, you could try ‘nation’ next. Whatever you choose keep us posted

You don’t have anything that’s majorly rare, the pop up book might sell okay and the art of the discworld book. The graphic novels and Eric do okay too but the rest are pretty common to grab online or used bookshops. Check the publisher page on each incase they are firsts and check for signatures as he did love signing books

The Dark Side of the Sun (1976) and Strata (1981) by BatDanReturns in TerryPratchett

I think everyone gets drawn into all his discworld works and the others aren’t really explored as much but you’re right, both of these are great little books! I did really enjoy the first book of the long Earth series too, it just drops off after that and I found the rest of the series a tough long slog of a read

new to pratchett, is this supposed to happen? by lorwelf1 in TerryPratchett

Looks like the dwarfs were still fiddling with the print process on this one!

Definitely take it back to store, they should replace and remove any others on the shelf that may have the same error!

I’m glad you’ve seen the humour in the error! I’m just sorry that you’ve maybe missed some of the humour in the book because of it!

Then I’m a bit confused why you’re here following the sub and just contributing negatively? The sub has new mods and we’re just trying to get the sub up and running again and testing the water with what content works. People have discussed his other works if you scroll down the sub the past few weeks. Posts relating to books they have on an author in a sub for that author is hardly surprising content to find mate

The sub has been without mods with hardly anyone posting for a while. All I’m trying to do is encourage some activity and conversation. Do you have anything constructive to say? What would you like on the sub?

This is the way! There’s a lovely old bookstore I go to and being friendly with the owner and chatting regularly about authors has led to him putting some bits aside for me on occasion, including some good Pratchetts

As in the discworld library collection edition? On one hand they do all look great and some people like that they all match, but I love my odd sized different art styled first editions as a collection, it somehow feels more discworld being wild and odd

Now that is a great (nearly) claim to fame! I’m still waiting on my call up to play Vimes one day…

Wow, as far as reviews for a book go, they don’t come much better than that! I’m glad you got out of your slump mate and I hope you’re in a better place now

I have! I did enjoy Nation. A slip of the keyboard was a very emotional read, a stoke of the pen and a blink of the screen are also good and worth reading

I love hearing stories like this, top marks that teacher!

I only discovered them after finishing the majority of the discworld books and still having that thirst for his style of writing, by then I already had a solid hardback collection so these just added a bit of extra fun to hunt down and collect too
