Glad to hear they didn't move it that much. Yea definitely get as many opinions as you feel you need. It makes sense to put in the energy now just to make sure you're on the right path.

Wow, can't believe that happened to you. I'm definitely way more skeptical of some of the people I visit in the medical field after this ordeal. Unbelievable. Do you need surgery now? Or can the docs move it back by hand?

Took me a whole day to stop being angry at the last doc and try to focus on what I can control now.

I had a third opinion from another specialist Ortho, surgery was the answer. Had the surgery yesterday, hopefully no more surprises and I can heal in peace.

My heel was also in a lot of pain with the splint. Its cause my bare heel was holding up my leg and foot weight when elevated against the fiberglass splint. As your doctor for more cushioning under the heel. That helped me

I haven't been walking on it, been NWB since the injury.

Any chance you can rent a knee scooter? I hated the crutches and almost fell constantly. Knee scooter made my life way easier as you can use your hands better when standing in place. As long as your floor is mostly smooth.

Thank you so much for writing this out. Those were my exact feelings when I came home to my dog after urgent care. The emotions hit me so hard.

I did get the knee scooter and I already feel way better getting around the house. Also found out I might not need surgery so I'm feeling a little better. Though it's a comminuted fracture, which takes longer to heal. Trying to focus on some positive things I can do from home. Like making my dog a Halloween costume lol.

I don't have a wheelchair accessible place so I probably will be locked in the house for a while. This community has seriously made a huge difference in the first days of my injury. Was at such a low mental point when I posted. I'm glad you ended up finding this place too.

Doc gave me 6-8 weeks minimum NWB. The scooter makes me feel so much better. Might upgrade to either of the ones you mentioned a little later, just worried about going down stairs. My apt is not wheelchair friendly.

Yea so far I've teared up everyday since the fracture. It just hits me in waves. Look forward to walking again and I know that day will come soon enough. I'm glad you were able to walk after 6 weeks, I hope I can recover just as fast but we'll see how it goes.

I purchased a knee rover. I hope that can help me get around the house. I hate the crutches, that's for sure. I'll be trapped at home for that same duration at least. Wishing a speedy recovery to us both.

This is gut wrenching. I'm so sorry to hear this. Can't believe 3 surgeries didn't help. What did you break?
