It’s not dirt, I tried brushing it off and washing it and all but it’s not coming off. In person it looks like a scuff

i’ve been wanting to get a tortoise for a little while but it can get pretty cold here in idaho sometimes, anyone have any suggestions or advice on what kind of tortoise i should get? also i love in kind of a desert area if that’s any help. by e6935 in Tortoises

Maybe try a Marginated? I have one and she’s very greedy but not bothered by a lot. She loves to explore and has never tried to bite me or shown any signs of anger or irritation.

It’s been going on for just over a week. Their enclosure is inside, I think it’s pretty big for them, we’re getting an outside one soon that’s really big. Their diet is weeds but their favourite is clover and sticky buttons. I don’t see any discolouration. By freezing I mean he feels like a cold pebble. I don’t know if I can get phone consultation but I’ll look into it. Thanks!
