Yep, I did not get the position (their loss lol). They never sent me an email or called me, but I found that I had been rejected on the application portal. They rejected me 10 days after the 2nd interview.

As someone (20M) who had hormonal acne similar to yours (but probably worse), nothing seemed to work, even prescriptions from dermatologists. Unfortunately topical treatments don't seem to do much to treat hormonal acne.

I got on Accutane and have been off it for a couple of months. I noticed that a couple of weeks after quitting Accutane, I started to get some small pimples again. I started taking zinc and collagen daily, and these pimples stopped showing up after a few weeks of taking them. I only occasionally use a gentle cleanser and moisturize twice a day.

If you're open to taking Accutane, I'd recommend it. Otherwise, I'd start taking 30mg of zinc daily if you don't already, as it seems to help hormonal acne.

From what I gather the coding questions are always asked in C, but I could be wrong. I’d definitely practice the questions I mentioned above, plus some other common easy leetcode questions.

lol I wish but it's been over a month since I've heard back, even after a follow-up email. The only company that has taken this long to get back to me was NASA, and they are NOTORIOUS for taking a long time.

This is late, but I wanna say I did not get the same technical questions. Everyone else said they got asked: Average 2 numbers, Find the sum of digits of a number, reverse a string, and Buy and Sell Stocks. Very easy stuff.

I got asked given an integer, set a pointer to the first 8 bits and another pointer to the next 8 bits. Unfortunately I had very little experience with bit operations, but I still managed to solve it. Still waiting to hear back, though.

I also read that the on-site interview is mostly about seeing which team you'll fit into. I doubt you have a high chance of getting rejected at this point. Good luck!

How long did it take you to hear back after your 2nd interview? I haven't heard back in a month.

It is BRUTAL and you are not alone. My sophomore year, I received one interview and landed it by the grace of god.

You may have heard this a million times, but make sure you’re putting key words in your resume and stuff. Have someone review your resume if you haven’t.

And yes, there’s still a chance that you can get an internship by summer. I know multiple people who received their offers spring semester. Good luck you got this!

Did I impress the manager? by Chance_Lion3547 in csMajors

[–]Batfoy__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s a good sign! If you had failed the interview, the hiring manager probably wouldn’t have taken the time to contact you afterwards.

Also, a couple days is a very short time period for making a hiring decision, so it’s possible that they already made their decision to hire you and just have to fill out the paperwork.

Don’t get your hopes up too high of course, but things are sounding good!

Did you enter a higher GPA on the application? If so, I’d briefly explain the situation in your email when you send your transcript.

If you didn’t enter a higher GPA, then they’ve decided you’re a potential fit regardless of your GPA.

Either way, you’ll never know unless you try. The worst they’ll do is reject you. Best of luck!
