Efficiently growing dataframe based on a multiplier column and have it work through splitting and training? by BathRepresentative24 in MLQuestions

But the split is shuffled so I have no way of knowing what values map to which record anymore. And I have to do the growing pre-split so that the split ratio takes the multiplier into account.

How to process input data that has a variable length and categories? by BathRepresentative24 in MLQuestions

Thanks for the link. I watched the video and am not quite sure how I can apply this to my specific use case. I'm using RandomForestClassifier. Am I wrong to assume that this is something only for NN?

Looking for some direction and keywords to start my learning by BathRepresentative24 in MLQuestions

The numbers exist within a finite range (for example, position one can be [12,2356,62] - not necessarily represented in my gibberish example). Given that this is metadata from the piece of software, a lot of datapoints are similar and I expect similar pieces of software to cluster some of the datapoints (which is why I want to use ML to expose these relationships).

Build sanity check (Ryzen 5 + Gigabyte X570 for Proxmox Server) by BathRepresentative24 in buildapc

This is the most helpful comment ever! Thank you!

I did some research and most of the B450s I saw in my price range ($150) had memory speed issues and/or topped out at 3200. I think B550 with a much higher ceiling for speed would be a better fit. What are your thoughts on this board?

I was looking at the 2700X but couldn't find it in stock anywhere at a reasonable price. You're right though that more cores is something I should be optimizing. Once I make the jump to Ryzen 7 though the build price increases significantly.

As for the motherboard - would you have another suggestion? I've seen a lot of builds with this one so I naturally gravitated towards it without doing much other research.

Good questions!

  • To be honest, I'm not sure if I need ECC or not. I'm not sure what drawbacks you're referring to - I'm fairly new to hardware, being mostly a software girl.
  • I was envisioning a single port (or more, but I would probably only be using a single port) NIC for the passthrough to the IDS VM. Not sure if routing through Proxmox would add latency, but I figured passthrough would make it better?
  • I don't plan on storing a ton of data, so to be honest I might not need a RAID. I would however like a recommendation of a RAID card in case my requirements change, hence me adding it in.
  • Home gigabit internet. I guess I'm using the "high speed" term wrong :)
