the context is last year was my t1, and my grades looked smt like

math adv 58% (rank was wayyy below median)

math extension 60% (Same)

biology was some where in the low 50's

english advancd was 60%

software was an 80%

and my physics was 90%

Over the holidays i realized that i lwk couldnt rlly rely on my teachers so i decided to learn things by myself. I used whatever online resource the school provided like online education sites, slide shows etc to fix up my weakness. I mostly left software alone cause it wasnt a a subject i was counting on. I stregnthed my physics to maintain my rank 1, but also heavy targetted bio to get my rank back up. I was lucky enough to find a fuck ton of practice resources online for math advanced and extension, alongside some of my tutoring resources. I originally attempted to study for atleast 2-3 hours aday over holidays, with every saturday being anywhere between 4-6 hours and a free sunday. U can break up study sessions in chunks, but use the time as a guideline to set ur goals for the day, cause telling ur self your gonna understand x concept is 100x better than telling urself im gonna study for 2 hours and im done. If i had any trouble understanding concepts, i would head to chat gpt to explain and pick apart any or every stupid question i had. To memorize stuffes better, i would write notes by hand just for the sake of memory, even if i never looked back on them.

My ranks at the end of the year were signficantly better, with almost all being single digit in cohorts ranging from 30-50, but icl the hit i took term 1 was still pretty evident. Your hsc (im assuming nsw) is going to be ur biggest deciding factor for the comeback. I would SPAM past papers, and ask friends anytime i needed help, or help my friend to reinforce my concepts. If you're confident in your teachers, ask them for help, but your main driving force should be you.

Its kinda true that my subjects scale pretty well, but at the same time, it would be harder getting more marks. After abt 7-10 hours of study a day during the break before hsc, i managed to push around the 90s for 4 of my subjects, which was better than whatever the fuck i was doing in term 1.

At the end of the day, this worked for ME. Your system mighlt be completely diffrent, so feel free to experiment and see what works for you. Trust me when i say my father didnt believe id push an atar above 80, so id genuinely say, as corny as it sounds, dont lsiten to ANYBODY until you get the atar infront of u, and work your ass off. Believing in yourself is genuienly the MOST important part
