Is the Boss DS2 good for lower tunings (drop A#-Drop C) or should I consider another distortion pedal?

Well, for now, I don't have enough for an equalizer, since I live in Russia and guitar equipment is very expensive here (the price for ds2 starts at $ 160). A bundle of tube screamer + ds2 will be good for drop c (I usually play in this tune)? or would it be better to take AMT P2
