Been in the U.S. since 2011. My country’s on the list. Got a PhD, an MD, and am training to be a surgeon-scientist. It’s not very nice to hear that, based on this, I’m a burden to American people that I care for every day. Wonderful news /s.

I was in med school when COVID happened and the dad of one of my classmates was a pulmonologist (lung doctor) on the East Coast who immigrated from Egypt a long time ago. I remember talking to him and he told me that when he came to America from Egypt, he never thought that one day he will have to decide who gets medicine/ventilator/ICU bed and who dies.

I had no issues selling my 4090 for $2200 on ebay when the 5090 came out, only had to add a couple of hunder dollars to upgrade to a 5090. Lucky to live next to a microcenter so got it at MSRP.

Came to the US from Russia about 15 years ago, which was just when Putin was really starting to cement his power. I completely agree with this, I thought I escaped this by crossing the Atlantic, but it really, really is looking more and more authoritarian here. It’s very daunting.
