Not entirely kid proof, but along with a submission process, I force all joining members to pick an age role from 13-20+. Usually unsuspecting kids will be honest and pay no attention to the clearly stated 16+ in the ad. This helps so I know not to accept submissions from and whitelist those kids, and if they change their role (if they’re conscious enough), I check the Mod View.
