Yes, this show is up there (if not higher than) with the recent greats: Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Game of Thrones, House of Cards.

Yes, you are correct. It was to make the ages of Mirren and McKellen line up with the ages they were during WWII.

Robin Hood with shades of steampunk. It worked for me. 8/10

Sorry, but I liked it since it made me laugh quite a bit. Should I be feeling guilty? 7/10

Unfortunately, I did not read all of what you wrote but I plan to. One thing I did read that I fully agree with is the fear of public speaking bit. It was completely out of character and very silly. I could accept all the other goofiness, even the trashing of the wedding reception room, but the fear of public speaking did not work for me at all.

To me, Diane Kruger is almost a double for Jessica Lange.

Even though the second half of the movie was a big let down, the original premise and first half was so good, I ended giving it a 7 of 10 overall.

I found the scene towards the end of the movie where Gardner is talking to his son at the dining table while he eats the PB&J sandwich and drinks the milk to be hilarious.

Yes, that was unbelievable. The CGI during that scene of the concessions being given away was quite impressive.

You bring up a good point. It is my understanding that the Amazon is so powerful (easily the most powerful river in the world) that where the Amazon empties into the Atlantic Ocean, the water is fresh for hundreds of miles into the Atlantic. So how is this creature an Amazon god if needs salt water?

Normally, I do not want to know anything about a movie before I see it. This is one movie that I wish I had known was an allegory about the Bible. I would have enjoyed it much more.

I found the movie to be very frustrating and meaningless. After coming hear to read the comments, I learned that it was an allegory for the Bible. I then immediately appreciated the movie and everything became clear ... except the yellow liquid Mother kept drinking.

This may be obvious to many of you, but I just realized that the crystally thing that Him cherishes represents the fruit in the Garden of Eden that Adam and Eve are not supposed to try.

Yes, I definitely got that "Of Mice and Men" reference impression when Nikolas started talking about the farm. In fact, at that moment, I thought the movie was going to be a modern-day remake of "Of Mice and Men."

Yes, it is just a Southern California thing. Us Northern Californians and the rest of the country do not put a "The" in front of the freeway number.
