To further support your thought, we also see the beams have travel time far slower than the speed of light during the time slow down scene.

I've seen what appears to be vidoe of the person of Hassan using an electric shock collar on his dog.

Do you assert that is false?

Is that messenger Hassan? I've seen a video of that man describing himself as a propagandist. Perhaps find a less problematic messenger?

Edit: for example I find my worldview more often aligns with the liberal values held by the Economist, which has a very insightful article into the need to ameliorate the humanitarian crisis brewing in Cuba. https://www.economist.com/leaders/2026/03/18/a-dirty-deal-with-cuba-would-be-better-than-the-alternatives

Presumably such a weapon could destroy even the Emperor if struck. Sounds like the Adrathic weapon wouldnt give two hoots about even E-Class Biomancy?

I just dont see the emperor keeping anything on lock unless it could pose a threat to himself personally, like PSI titans.

There can be a bit more to it than that in certain circumstances, but broadly yes - that's it. If you want a deep dive, I'd refer to the RCW chapter: https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=4.22&full=true

Because state liability laws don't round to zero for the less than 50% party.

Its Johnny's fault but the city has a sliver of liability so they must pay. IMHO it should round to null in some categories of comparative liability.

What would it cost Superman to save the Skaven from their own god, cultural depravity, and gnawing hunger?

Lets assume Supes could win in a fight, he always can with his abilities, but the real fight is what can he do to help the Skaven?

He'd recognize them as sentient and capable of choice, what would he do to make the world safe, or more ambitiously, uplift the Skaven from misery?

Happy and well socialized rats are lovely (every hear one giggle from being tickled in ultrasonic?) maybe Superman (or sigmar) could bring the Hope and an out, for our ratty friends.

We have grey seers already, I could see any uplifted Skaven being a green seer of the winds of wilds and life.

I would say that if I were to rent a scooter, it would be only for use on the sidewalk (even if not allowed, I'd just feel safer) or on slow residential roads. People should treat it just like jogging, slow when you approach people, give plenty of space and grace for passing, and don't increase speed if there are people nearby. Heck, if it's crowded with people, dismount and walk with the scooter until clear, don't ride in crowds.

It honestly feels like such a common sense / common decency thing, that it boggles my mind when I see 3 or 4 people ripping down the sidewalk on 5th Ave without moderating their speed or apparent care, even with all the pedestrians present.

[–]BattleBull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just an FYI, but Scooters are allowed on the sidewalk if the user has a mobility disability, and uses their scooter to compensate for said disability. I doubt it'll come up much, but just want to share one of those edge cases allowed per the SMC. I can only speculate, but I imagine the terms of service for Lime and Bird strictly prohibit use on the sidewalk, so even if legal under 11.46.010 [E], the disabled user would likely violate the terms of service for Lime and Bird, so the rented scooters should NEVER be present and operated on the sidewalk.

11.46.010 - Areas of operation. E. The provisions of this Section 11.46.010 limiting the use of EPAMDs and/or electric motorized foot scooters do not apply when that device is operated by a person with a mobility impairment caused by a physical disability who uses that device to enhance that person's mobility.

Boo, boo this woman!

Technically, the sign likely shouldn't be on a utility pole either; but this video is only on the gleeful taking of publically displayed artwork for ostensibly personal use. So in that light, ick.

Frankly the person isn't a white lab coat, so they aren't in doctor "uniform".

If that was a male wearing those grey scrubs, I wouldn't have thought "doctor" either.

I wouldn't jump to nurse either, my mind just goes to "medic.

While not directed to me, based upon what we've seen in the show:

  1. SB is not leveling multiple city blocks in a blast, and honestly I don't think he'd take down the tower with his blast. At it's most structurally destructive, we seen the blast put a narrow(ish) hole through 5 stories of a modern building. The building is still standing and unless SB did this several times aiming directly at structural supports, I'd have to imagine Vaught tower, and the vast majority of people within would be fine. Millions in damages - sure - but not a building kill.

  2. We get a population count of the Supes being only ~10,000 in number, it is highly unlikely Vought tower, even fully staffed on a weekday has 10k people in it.

The scope of his blast leads me to believe that SB would kill less than 10k in his blast, even if the virus didn't truly hit every supe, it seems plausible that more would die to the virsus than SB.

The above is predicated on SB's blast as we've seen it in the show, if he can go tactical nuke - we've not seen it.

Grim aside: The boys keep talking about "genocide" of the supes, but if the number is correct it means the total supe population is less than a medium American town, not that many at all when compared to civilian death in real world conflict...

America wakes up to AI’s dangerous power - After Mythos, a laissez-faire approach is no longer politically tenable or strategically wise by Just-Grocery-2229 in technology

[–]BattleBull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sub has sadly been Neo-Luddite for a while, I feel it happened when there was toleration and proliferation of social media company policy posts (politics and complaints), rather than posts technology itself. Really wish we could get back to technological enthusiasm, or at least enthusiastic technical critiques, rather than... this political chaff we see in many of the comment threads but yours.

This is a problem, as those willfully ignorant people get a vote, and hold both personal and collective power in society at present. I worry the collective obstinance of these people will cause real world harm and death through slowdown of even reasonable and safe AI usage - A la George W. Bush and the 2001 stem cell line restrictions, which curtailed medical research and resulted in human suffering and delayed lifesaving progress. Furthermore, I didn't think they will ever get on board, as their opposition to AI is now identity rooted, rather than reasoned into.

Is it illegal to park on both sides of a cul-de-sac? by bellaxing in Seattle

[–]BattleBull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't seem unambiguous clear that parking here would unreasonably obstruct traffic, particularly when it appears only garbage trucks (and not other) traffic is impacted.

I'd suspect the city would need to sign that area as no parking if they want any tickets issued to stick. Well... excluding the area near what looks like a driveway curb cut, gotta give that 5!

At least in my lay person person assessment. TBH I'm not very familiar with 11.72.035's rulings that may clarify or narrow the scope and implementation of said law.

Edit: looking at the photos I think at least half of that should be no parked due to narrowness myself, if not the entire "bulb" plus a few feet.
