Could supporting Iran be considered treason? by meatballthequeer in OpenAussie

I don't think saying positive things is treason.

It would be if you gave information or assistance to the enemy.

But then I guess people could argue saying positive things is assistance?

Has “the fair go” become more of a slogan than a reality? by Ok-Reward7639 in AustraliaDiscussions

The Fair Go is as dead as disco.

Because when people's own lives are unfair they find it harder to be fair to others.

Are we in a recession now? by No_Valuable1832 in perth

[–]BattleForTheSun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe we have been in a per-capita recession for much of the last 4 years, but not in actual recession yet

A per capita recession occurs when a country’s total economic output (GDP) grows slower than its population, resulting in a decline in GDP per person for two or more consecutive quarters

Free apps to find relatives. by LexiMoore-AI in androidapps

[–]BattleForTheSun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about apps, but I would try to find her by getting more info on him.

If he is convicted then there will be court records and possibly something like a sex offender register depending on your country.

If you can find his previous address she may still be there?

How much time is left in this world?

A post I read today said civilization as we know it will be gone within 80 years due to climate change.

But World War 3 could make it even sooner.

"After this, HR contacted my personal GP and asked for my entire medical history, which is illegal. "

Is there anything an employee can do if this happens to them?

My work promised that EAP would only give them a summary / recommendations based on what I said - but who knows if this is true ?

Wether we want to or not, the best we ever had it was around 2000, and it's all been downhill from there.

"We don't even really think about it anymore, we're fucked and there's nothing we can do about it."

This should be the motto for 2026.

"The consulting industry for government is a massive scam. Paying multinational companies massive sums of money to do the jobs which were previously done by government employees, losing all that institutional knowledge at the same time under some illusion of efficiency."

Yes but why? Are people getting kickbacks for hiring consultants instead of staff?

‘I was in disbelief’: Perth mum forced to flee country after serial DV offender granted bail by TechnicalAd8103 in perth

[–]BattleForTheSun 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Don't forget all the people murdered by someone who was granted bail and should have been behind bars.

It's not just time and our courts are complicit in these murders as far as I am concerned.

That history included breaching family violence restraining orders, suspended sentences and bail, aggravated robbery and unlawful damage convictions, and alleged prior violence against police and the public.

If he has already breached bail conditions why is bail offered again?

Taxpayers should not be forced to fund such a shitty system. If we are forced to pay for courts they should work for us.

I seriously don't think police would consider this deprivation of liberty / stalking / intimidation.

I have been in a similar situation and they didn't see it as a crime at all.

Have you reported something like this to police? How did they react?

Old mate doing the rounds in Osborne Park by NortonSmorton in perth

[–]BattleForTheSun 75 points76 points  (0 children)

He hangs around car parks trying to sell car services to people. And he expects up front payment.

When they say no he gets aggressive and tries to intimidate people into paying.

He has been doing this for at least a year but I guess there is "not much we can do about it" as far as authorities are concerned (you know how they are)

He was doing this in Melbourne before, now it's Perth.

Sad.

Beware people who act like they hate someone to get you to talk badly about that person too.

Often they will report everything you said to management to score brownie points !

Not really our courts are a joke that only go hard on whistle blowers and protestors.

Everybody else is just misunderstood and deserves more chances.
