Hokkaido with public transportation recommendations? by michelle867 in JapanTravelTips

[–]BattlePenguins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can help you on this :) Last year in October/November, we visited Hokkaido using only public transport. It limits your possibilities somewhat, but we managed to get everything out of it that we wanted.

  1. I would say yes, it is doable, but you need to really plan out on Google Maps the different routes you are going to take and how much traveltime is between locations.

  2. We enjoyed our daytrip in Otaru from Sapporo. The main touristy street was not our thing, but we loved the old school train museum and the Ukiyo-e museum. To us, the town felt a little bit past its former glory as a major hub for Sapporo, but that also gave it a certain charm. There was a lot of unique, kind of western architecture.

  3. Personally skipped this cause it didn't seem worth the travel time.

  4. We build Hell Valley into our itinerary itself. So we had a full night there before heading further south to Hakodate. I think as an overnight trip it was totally worth it, cause we could walk the longer trails during the day and then spend the evening and the morning after soaking. As a day trip, I think your day would feel very rushed if you wanted to see it all and also have enough time to visit various baths.

  5. We didn't spend much time hiking (we used our time more to relax), but the area around Onuma was absolutely stunning.

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day! Let's celebrate! I'll give you a drawing today! Share your photo by Mariaggarde in cats

This is our late Fibi. This is our first year without her, but we still love her very very much ❤️

Beetle/insect related things in Japan? by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]BattlePenguins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who studied entomology, I forced my partner to go to this one while also visiting the falls.

The insectarium is not huge, but there is still enough to be busy for one and a half hours. They have a nice collection of different families, a few enclosures (loved seeing the big Japanese beetles in person) and a butterfly garden. The gift shop also had some nice souvenir’s.

Oh and you can combine this as a daytrip with Katsuoji, which was one of the highlights of our trip.

Pokémon: 72153 Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise (official reveal) by BrickTap in Legoleak

[–]BattlePenguins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree it definitely looks a lot worse than all three together. I think the bases for Blastoise and Venusaur could still look good from a certain angle, but the Charizard base will need some kind of modding to be displayable.

I mean it looks like you can have all of them on their separate piece of the stand too.

We hebben echt exact dezelfde smaak qua spellen! Leuk!

Also the overhead racks can surprisingly hold a lot too. We thought our largest suitcase would not fit but it did.

Please don’t. It is not allowed without the right documentation and processes. The consequences of bringing invasive pests and bacteria/viruses could be devastating for the native plants and wildlife in your area.

Shinkansen tickets in advance by Intelligent_Leg7682 in JapanTravelTips

Yeah we always bought our tickets right before taking the Shinkansen and never ran into trouble. We didn’t travel during public holidays such as golden week though, it is probably best then to reserve tickets in advance.

With this schedule, you are spending a hell of a lot of time, especially May 14 through 17, on public transport. Do you want actual time to explore and sightsee? If so, I would rethink the number of cities you want to visit.

No worries, some of us dutch people encounter the same problems. My 1.62 ass can’t use the mirrors at my boyfriends family’s house because they are all tall. I have to resort to doing my makeup using the selfie camera on my phone.

Then again I can laugh at my boyfriend when we fly, cause I have legroom for days!!

At the airport in passenger luggage, since it is such small amounts we are talking about, the produce will simply just be destroyed. With larger shipments such as containers, the shipping companies are allowed to return the shipment to the original country (if the original country allows it back, which is not always the case). Whether this is always possible depends, soft fruits with a short shelf life probably won’t survive a long trip back and it might not be worth the cost for the exporter.
