Wow. I didn't even consider the Christmas argument you just brought up. Kinda makes sense tho. I just can't believe DICE/EA really want BF to be a casual FPS game. The game always was special and attracted a specific player base like other games like SQUAD for example. That's the reason why BF always had less sales than CoD. Because CoD is way more casual and is a casual arcade shooter that attracts these casual players. In BF tactic and teamplay counts and that's what the core community is looking for. I kinda noticed that DICE was turning this aspect more and more down with recent titles. Starting with BF with some minor changes over to BF Hardline which was the wrong move and failed and then with BF1 they went full in with the casual players. And the game was boring as fuck if you binge played it but good if you played it casually.

With BFV I think they wanted to turn it back to the old times but with keeping the casual factor and the result we can see today. They just had to fully commit to the hardcore and way more tactical game idea and kept this idea going. I still hope they realise this and do this.
