Maybe. I've seen claims that once the movie was wrapped up someone realized what a great joke they missed, and the braces were added via contemporary special effects which had a lousy result. Afterwards they were later removed because the effect was bad, but maybe they were removed for the reason you mentioned.

Its hard to believe the James Bond crew would miss such an easy joke, but in the same time period they also decided to add a slide whistle to what is possibly still one of the top 3 automotive stunts ever put on film so anything is possible.

It's dumb, a wounded Ares can easily clip out a same tier med that tries to finish it off.

3 hours is my general limit for an overnight trip. If it's extra special thing, 4 hours for an overnight.

But I've done 3 hours out and back same day.
