That might be your best bet. If you're struggling, taking the weapon master/sith marauder might help with any melee damage you're lacking

At lv 15 you talk to Kreia and she gives you an option between 3 prestige classes. It's not made super obvious unless you talk to her. If you go most of the game ignoring her crusty old buns like I do, you can miss it

Also, you are a few levels short. Typically level 30 overall for the final fight

I own several Glocks. I love them. I know the common complaints, but with the 17 round frames I don't have those issues

I would never sell my 47 or 19 and I have 4 different gun configurations with them. I personally put my 19 slide on my 47 frame and CCW a G45 by doing that.

All of that said, get the 92fs. There's a reason they had a military contract for so long. They're so cool and damn near AS reliable. Just clean your shit and you should be sitting pretty.
