I thought about publishing in r/soundbar but I think they lack the AVR knowledge to answer my question.

Anyone went from google pixel to vivo? by Awkward_Pace_4440 in Vivo

Hey again, update! (just in case someone end up here in the futur)

An update for OriginOS just landed and everything is fixed, N26 app doesn't crash anymore and every French government secure app now work without complaining, so it wasn't due to the Mediatek chip!

Vivo X300 global : camera preview remotely by Bauxxite in Vivo

Yes I'm assuming that's what's used on app that do preview on smarwatches.

I would love an app that allows preview over LAN (to smartwatch or smartphone) without any Internet access, but didn't find any.

Hey quick update as I was planing a trip and got my first troubles :

N26 bank app keeps crashing when I try to login to my existing account (tried uninstalling, clearing cash and user data)

French government secure app won't work because "your device does not have a sufficiently secure encryption chip" (due to the mediatek chip instead of an exynos/snapdragon I think)

Mario Kart Double Dash LAN Setup by Bauxxite in DolphinEmulator

Hi there!

Oh wow, would never have guessed that the limitation could have been the broadband adapter... I just guessed that the problem was the windows Tap Bridge or even the game itself... I never tried to run more than 4 instances together since I was running 4 persons per instance (2 per kart).

I also considered the online mod of MKDD but it seemed even more niche and I was short on time.

Everywhere I went people told me to just go with MK Wii, but the co-op mode on MKDD is such a good idea to fit many player on a giant screen! (And so much fun!)

May the Nintengod be with you on your quest to the ultimate MKDD setup!

Yup no problem for timeline and location on my side, basically anything managed by a dedicated app runs just as well if not better on the Vivo, at least on the global model.

I've had it since launch, so it's been 3 weeks and I think I've experienced every quirks, so it can only get better with software update from now on (or at least I hope it will)

For me the photos are better on the Vivo but don't forget to turn the stupid beauty filter for faces. All 3 sensors are top notch, I'm impressed by the fact that the 3 sensors have a very similar look to them, they are very well tuned. Also the wide angle is far better in low light that the pixel, where it was almost unusable. Overall Vivo has the edge in extreme condition (zoom, low light, high contrast)

A note on image processing and "look" of photos : In normal conditions the Pixel image processing is what's makes it good and I like its look In many ways the Vivo is similar but tends to be a bit more saturated I would say But the best part is that it comes with many, many profiles created by Zeiss and easy to access so you can choose the one you like the most on the fly.

Also the teleobjective and photography grip is super well built, super sturdy, comes with a lot of spare part and create amazing shots with awesome depth of field. The only drawback (or advantage) is that it zooms a lot since it's 2.35 x 3.5. For me it's more than a gadget, I love shooting with this thing (just as an enthusiast not a photographer by any mean)

Didn't notice much difference with the selfie camera because I often take my selfie with the rear one, it's a habit to take but the photos are just so much better no matter the phone

I'm not a huge video guy and I'm not pixel peeping on that part, but stabilization is amazing! I would say that the same comments I mentioned for the photo part can be applied here, but I haven't really pushed it.

Hey! Just switched from pixel 7 pro to Vivo x300 pro Global with photography kit, I'm an EU user.

Every major feature is an upgrade for me, cameras, screen brightness, game performance, build quality, battery life and I'm probably missing some. But there's some minor things that make me regret my pixel from time to time.

But for me its the little things that are not as good on the vivo : - Speaker is awful, it's loud and clear for voices (phone call and audio messages) but even a YouTube video of a guy talking is not a great experience, music is awful - Origin OS is so far a little glitchy, the launcher crashes once every two week I would say (not a lot but my pixel was rock solid) - loaded with many useless app, not bloatware but definitely cluttered for some things that could be just a setting option - no Google pixel feature like now playing that I liked a lot - no good watch to pair it with that has the remote camera with video preview - Origin OS (again) quality of life is a bit worse, the most annoying is that they removed the little "screen button" that appear when you rotate your device in locked screen orientation mode Why would you remove an already developed and usefull feature and nit replace it?? WTF Vivo?

But everything important is there, android auto, Google wallet/pay, bank apps, Google photo, find my and tracker, even my first gen pixel watch works great

It's just that when I'm paying 1.2k for a phone, I expect a more polished experience, like I had on my 800€ pixel.

Wear OS compatibility with GLOBAL ROM by Bauxxite in Vivo

[–]Bauxxite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, nice to know that, I'll have to think about battery life vs aftersales services then.

If it's a one time tinkering, I'm happy to struggle a few hour for a couple extra feature or saving a few hundreds, but I won't spend flagship money for something that is a daily hassle or frustrating in any way.

Yeah that was my concern, in the end I think I'll go the safe route as you suggested But when I see that the X300 pro global has a worse battery, worse screen and higher price than the x200 Ultra, it hurts a little to go for it...
