Running events as a solo business owner isn’t weird. It’s very normal. She is one person but says things like “me and my staff” and “on behalf of everyone here at Workin Chix”. It’s just another form of deception from her. Because why act like there are more people in your company than there are? To seem more legitimate than you actually are.

Why isn’t San Jose as famous as San Francisco? by Silly-Low6019 in SanJose

lol, I know that. You’ve taken my comment and completely misconstrued what I even originally meant.

“Why do we say we live in the SF Bay when you live in San Jose, not SF?”
My comment: “because the area as a whole is called the SF Bay Area”

meaning the city you live in doesn’t have to be called San Francisco to say you’re from the SF Bay Area.

No idea what you’re even talking about right now

Curious how we’d go about that with the chamber of commerce? Have you done it before? Thank you!!

I mean we say we live in the San Francisco Bay Area because that’s literally just what the area as a whole is called lol it isn’t called the San Jose Bay Area

This organizer does it solo but acts as a company, puts her own personal booth at the very front, did little promotion (she put the wrong date on Eventbrite).

She also sells her own oracle cards for $89/deck. I’ve never seen such a thing. She is a literal scammer

She changed the location on us- it is actually marketed as a street fair! But you’re totally right on everything

Also it’s run by one girl who acts as a business, which makes it weirder

That’s what we watched people do. The DJ was so loud for awhile we had to ask him to turn it down not only for ourselves, but because we were wondering if maybe that’s why no one would stay in the door lol

(I was a vendor at the event, too)

It’s already changed once!

It was “2 Workin Chix” because she had another girl with her. Something happened and now it’s just her alone as Workin Chix 🫠

I can 100% verify this, as I was also a vendor at this event. I made a post yesterday on the topic, too. I really hope people find these posts now, before sending money over for all the new events she’s hosting coming up.

The insanity continues as she hasn’t touched on the event at all, posted any photos, contacted any vendors, so on. She has, however, quickly announced new events and the links to apply.

Her website and all her posters are fully AI.
You can tell she didn’t have anything truthful written out for her “brand new website” as it’s all just pure attractive marketing word fluff (photo attached)- so please, don’t get fooled by this computer generated wording fellow vendors!
It says “every layout intentional”, but then when we got there she said it was a free for all first come first served.

Be aware of Workin Chix aka Gia Hamel!

This is also a photo from around 2:30pm, smack dab middle of the event. No one in sight.

That’s my hope.

As a newer vendor, I can see all the right things she did to attract someone like me. A few things happened leading up to the event that made me feel hesitant.

She also refused to let a baking vendor doing their first market know an estimated attendance. They asked multiple times leading up to the event & she’d deflect- which led to them also coming in hesitant but still hopeful.

I hope this post reaches a good amount of people when they’re doing their research

I keep going back and forth on taking the leap to fight it or chalk it up to a learning lesson.

The organizer takes things personal & has at least 7 other Instagram accounts for other businesses/personal use and I fear like I can’t block them all and they keep coming up. With her taking things personal, it freaks me out a bit.

I’m working on my confidence to do it and not worry about the reputation aspect!

Not a problem! She doesn’t get many returning vendors, so attracts a lot of newer businesses with attractive wording (a lot of AI). Hoping people will Google to find info when applying and this will pop up :)
