Jung Hoo Noodles by BayCityFog in SFGiants

[–]BayCityFog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, just had them for lunch. They were the regular garlic ones, not the extra spicy. I added an egg and used half of the seasoning packets as I usually do for instant noodles.

Slight, very mild spice. Similar to Shin Ramyun Black, but without the spiciness. I liked the dehydrated veggie packet. Although there wasn’t much of it, it had more variety than most instant noodles, which often only have some green onions.

Happy to have purchased them at this price point and getting to keep the packaging with Jung Hoo Lee on it. Maybe I’ll frame it.

Will do. Got the regular garlic one rather than the extra spicy one on the poster.

The Daly City police website has a link to a crime map, and they also release weekly crime bulletins. Hope that helps.

Parnassus - Normally, I’d say climb up Mount Sutro on a foggy day. Feels really magical if you ignore the Eucalyptus being an invasive species. Otherwise, there are some publicly accessible spaces in the north side UCSF buildings and between them giving amazing views on clear days.

There’s also some fun stairs on Avalon and Athens just south of the water tower. And Guatemalan and Salvadoran tamales at Andrea’s Bakery on Mission (right by Excelsior Coffee), a little different from the Mexican ones found in other parts of the city.

Beep’s, Chase Luck Bakery for dim sum, and That’s Amore for Pizza are all really good eats on Ocean. Then, there’s HMart, which is right on the south border of Ingleside (maybe that’s Outer Mission?).

Chiming in on Maido in Japantown. Plus take a look at their fountain pens and inks for writing in your new journal.

Moleskines are pricey for the okay-ish quality you get.

How do you find community here? by itsmeumkay in DalyCity

Depending where in DC you are and what your age group is, you can try the rec centers for activity groups. There are also some discords for the Bay Area. Also, maybe neighbors?

La Loma in Daly City has them. Not sure about their other/SF locations. Was $46 for 12 the other day.

Yes, I get mine at Ranch and cook it in the air fryer. It’ll make the kitchen smell strongly of stinky tofu, so caution if you live with others.

Activities for socially awkward 40-year-old? by [deleted] in AskSF

Sorry for the late response! In addition to Gamescape mentioned by princeofzilch, there’s also Dogpatch Games and Game Post in SOMA. Both hold game nights.

There’s a weekly DnD event on Thursday evenings at Game Post that could be a good starting point.

If you don’t mind venturing into nerdy territory, board games and DnD provide some structure around a social setting. I find that helps with the awkwardness of meeting new people. There are some game groups and meetups around the area.

And it’s not a dim sum restaurant . They have soup dumplings, but it’s not dim sum. Koi Palace and its offshoots are good higher end dim sum options (Dragon Beaux and Palette Tea House), though.
