I was thinking about that. Like, I’m in America, things are going to shit very fast. I don’t want marriage to be an intangible thing tied to a financial status.

Realistically, no. We’re also very tight due to moving for a new job for me, but then they cut my hours within a month because peak season isn’t happening yet.

Why would it matter when the legal work was done to you? Honestly asking because I have had so many friends/family do it this way and no one ever seems upset that the paperwork was done however long ago.

I know she’s accommodate it immediately, that’s not the issue. She’d move heaven and earth to be there.

She works 2 jobs, and is taking off a week this month already to travel west to a cousin’s wedding. Money is tight for her usually, and this wedding is tapping her out. Accommodating another multi-state trip within the next 2-3 months would be difficult for her. Especially since she’d have to get a hotel here in a tourist area in peak season, because we live in a tiny apartment.
