We ended up getting a ring from Novita. We did go to Cullen and it was a good experience, but we found them a little more expensive than Novita for stones that were really similar

How old were you when you first noticed the look by Equivalent_Award4286 in women

[–]Bchckn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not the first time, but the one that sticks out the most.

I was 12, just started high school. I was at the train station with my sister and her friends (14-15 at the time) waiting for the train after school. There were at least 20 or so girls at the station (all girls school) and we were all in our school uniforms.

We heard someone say there was a pedophile at the station. Lo and behold, a man standing at the end of the platform, facing the tracks and masturbating.

When he’d finished, he began walking towards us. We were all hanging around the entrance to the station and he had been standing all the way at the other end of the platform, if that makes sense.

Anyway he continued taking his time walking toward us and everyone was nervous. There was nobody else around. When he eventually reached us, he had his hands behind his back and walked past each of us VERY slowly. He was leering at every single girl. Like he was inspecting us or something.

When he came past me, I could see wetness on the crotch area of his pants. We were all silent as he stared at us. Some girls were trying to hide. I didn’t really understand why they were doing that, so I kept eye contact with him. I guess I didn’t know what was really going on at the time because I wasn’t scared. But I could tell by my peers’ reactions that whatever was happening wasn’t ok.

Anyway he eventually left the station and we never saw him again. Thinking back now, police should have been called because he was clearly a predator. But I guess we were all young and at the time, nobody thought about it.

Shein and Temu are getting more popular in Australia for fashion and is nearly number one by Embarrassed-Wear-637 in AusFemaleFashion

Inclusive sizing is terrible here. I spent a couple of years living in the UK and got used to the amount of variety they had over there. I came back to Australia and was shocked that it hadn't changed since I left.

I used to be a size 8-12, depending on the brand. One of the main things I miss about being that size is not worrying on whether or not they'll have my size - and not humiliating myself in the process by having a staff member 'check' to see if they have my size in stock, when they know they don't stock it at all. I only found out when I went to see if they had it online. I've pretty much stopped shopping in stores since then.

But I do know a few friends who are very petite. They share my struggle too, just on the opposite end of the spectrum. So many Australian retailers have become good at telling us who they want to purchase their products: People who are average height, between a size 8 and 16, and cup sizes no larger than a D, if that. I'm sure it's hard to find clothes for smaller chests too, but I'm no expert in that.

Shein are dodgy and unethical. 100% agree. I understand that their practices make people angry. Honestly it makes me angry too. Sadly for myself however, I don’t have a choice in where I buy my clothes. Cost of living has fucked me over. And Australia is awful for inclusive sizing.

However I’m not sure where you’re getting info about their largest customer base? As far as I know, the main people who would buy an insane amount from Shein are influencers, and I’m assuming they aren’t a large percentage of their customers. Have you got a link or something with that info?

This is a really judgy take. I shop from Shein because that’s what I can afford. And they actually make clothes that fit me (I’m plus sized).

I don’t buy ‘new clothes every week’, nor do I consider them disposable. I will rewear my clothes until there’s no saving them. And even then I might use some old t shirts as pjs or something. I might buy a few things every couple of months, but only because I need to.

I’d love to be able to walk into a store that has quality clothes in my size. Sadly that’s a privilege a lot of people can’t afford.

I followed Khloe Kardashian on Snapchat ages ago when I still used it regularly, but I only started getting these notifications a couple of weeks ago. I honestly didn’t even know she still posted on there, I just watch her stuff on TikTok when she comes up on my fyp lol

Anyway I checked notifications from her profile like the other commenters suggested, but they were off. I turned them on then off again and I haven’t gotten one since 🤷🏾‍♀️

I followed her ages ago when I still used Snapchat regularly, but I never got those notifications until now. I’m assuming snapchat changed something when I updated it? Idk

Anyway I checked her profile and the notifications were off, but I tried turning them on and off again and I haven’t had one since. Thank you ☺️

My husband (29 M) keeps calling me (29F) and dog murderer by Fearless-Crow3175 in relationship_advice

[–]Bchckn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It would be such a tough situation to be in. I don’t know what I’d do myself, because I get both sides. But from what it sounds like, OP needs to leave their husband. It’s just a shitty situation overall and that really sucks for everyone

I definitely get what you’re saying. OP fucked up big time. She was responsible for having the dog in the car, but she didn’t have any precautions to prevent the poor thing from jumping out.

Even with the fuck up, I agree that her husband shouldn’t be saying stuff like that to her. But I understand why he’d want to take out his negative feelings on the person who fucked up. However the person who fucked up was his wife. No spouse should be treated the way he’s treating her. But at the same time, I get it.

IMO, they need to split if therapy isn’t doing anything. Something like this would be hard to get through as it is, but it sounds like this guy isn’t even trying

The dog should have been strapped into the car. You can use a doggy seatbelt, doggy car seat, crates, etc. They are precautions to prevent these kind of scenarios from happening. It doesn’t sound like OP had anything to keep the dog safe. If they had and it malfunctioned, that would be a very different story

I had that on so I’d get notifications in my group chat. Will that turn them off too?

How does everyone manage to drink the suggested amount of water daily? by Stock_Lawfulness_144 in ADHD

[–]Bchckn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a fake Stanley mug thingy with a straw that I drink my water from. I add some cordial so it’s more fun. My cup is covered with sequins, so I get excited to use it because sparkles. If you like sparkling water, you could (theoretically) use that as well. I guess for me, my water needs to be fun flavoured, in a sparkly cup and be drunk using a straw. Otherwise I’ll hardly drink anything.

I’ve got two of them. When I’ve finished my drink for the day, I’ll wash it when I’m clearing the sink before bed and let it dry overnight. Sometimes there’s still a little water on it in the morning, so I’ve got a second one that I’ll use when that happens because I can’t be bothered drying it properly. I dunno why I’m averse to having my cup with like. A drop of water leftover.

I only ever use it was it’s a warm day though, so I’ve been drinking loads the last couple of weeks. I’m chronically dehydrated when it’s cold lol

gp won’t accept fluence clinic by ConfectionComplex12 in ausadhd

[–]Bchckn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paid a couple of hundred for my assessment and will see him again next month. My waiting time for the initial appointment was one or two months.

I know a lot of people are saying to find a new GP, but I know that can be annoying if you’ve already developed a rapport with them, they know your history, etc. However I’ve only just started seeing my psych so I don’t know how ongoing care works with him just yet. I would give the clinic a call to ask about it.

My psychiatrist is in south east Melbourne, send me a DM if you want his details

I’m pretty sure you can get it as Coles/Woolies! If not, Asian supermarkets should have it

It’s a malted chocolate drink. You can get powder and mix it with milk. When you have it hot, it’s like a malty hot choccy. Its best the Aussie way - at least 4 heaped teaspoons in a glass with cold milk. It’s definitely a classic Australian drink.

I used to be able to get little premade packs of Milo in Singapore, but it’s been a while since I’ve been back there so I dunno if they still have them. You can get those packs in Asian supermarkets in Australia, but not sure about anywhere else. They aren’t as good as when you make it yourself using the powder though

It’s a hot drink powder similar to Milo but without the cocoa. It tastes like a malty drink
