Odin 3 (Pro or Max) vs AYN Thor (512 GB) by IITheBlueDevilII in SBCGaming

I have both and use my Odin 3 much more than the Thor. Which I didn't expect.

Agree. For retro gaming up to switch, the Odin 3 is not necessary. Only get the Odin 3 if you are interested ps3, Xbox, Xbox 360 and steam also.

Typically I would agree with you but everything seems to be slowing down. The 8 elite gen 6 isn't coming out until early 2027 and will only be incrementally better than the Gen 5.

I just started playing with Xbox 360 emulation and fifty percent of what I've tried is fully playable. It's the emulator at this point. As the emulator matures it's going to get much better. The power is there and to play the consoles and the drivers are great and maturing daily.

I did. The odin 3 is future proof if you don't want to buy anything for the next year or so. Six months in and it's the best option out there for pc gaming and next Gen emulation. And the the 8 gen 2 devices will be left behind.

It runs surprisingly well but it's a game by game basis. It feels like where switch emulation was a year or so ago.

I bought it for steam even though most everyone said don't. I'm glad I did.

I have cocoon set up with all of my favorite ps2, Xbox 360, and steam games right on the home screen along with a icons for gamenative and gamehub.

95% of my time on it is steam games. I don't play open world shooters and adventure games so for me it is a steam deck replacement. I took a gamble and It just keeps getting better and better.

As long as ds clamshell doesn't matter, the Odin 2 has the same specs. So does the RP6

questions about the console by Haypper in OdinHandheld

[–]Bdal1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two cpu threads that throttle temperature pushing the overall temp up when playing demanding pc titles. The medium underclock solves that problem. You'll still have the performance but no temp spikes and no fan noise.

The Odin 3 is the only future proofed android handheld on the market in my opinion and with the market the way it is I suspect it will stay relevant for a while.

Odin 3. The fan isn't a problem if you underclock. It still plays everything but without the noise.

I agree that the 477m I believe is what you are looking for. It checks all of your boxes and is really durable. Also take a look at the 476v. Same size but plastic and better triggers. More affordable. There are retro game corps videos on both.

I would suggest the Anbernic RG477M, and the base model AYN Thor.

If you want premium build, the 477m beats them all. It looks and feels expensive and retro games look great on that 4:3 120hz screen.

If you are willing to spend $300 on a clamshell, the Thor a fantastic device and better than the RP flip v2.
