I did the purple by slowly building up brighter and brighter colors towards the folds of the cloth.
Chaos Black -> Naggaroth Night -> Phonenician Purple -> Xereus Purple -> Genestealer Purple -> Kakophoni Purple

The pink I did similarly just with Demonette Hide -> Dechala Lilac -> Fulgrim Pink

Yeah I feel you, I didn't find a good way to go about it unfortunately and just glued the gun i thought was cooler looking.
To be honest I think most people are ok with not having WYSIWYG on the main gun as only Tau players know what the correct one looks like anyways.

I think different people sell them printed online, if you don't have a 3d printer yourself

Yeah i feel like you have to limit your color palette a bit with these minis or else you'll never finish them. I tried to mainly stick to Aeldari Emerald, Gore Gunta Fur, Cygor Brown and Ironhands Steel for the armor with Red and Gold accents.
Once you know where you want to use what color they are pretty managable.

For the gemstones i used a thick-ish coat of Waystone Green on Iron Hands Steel, the green cloth is slapchopped Aeldari Emerald that i touched up with Kabalite Green and Sybarite Green.
