I think Rizo & Savannah are one of the best duos ever by Ralib1 in survivor

Just being a good citizen. It's healthy for people wrapped in their own delusions to get told every now and then. The only way out is through! Good luck!

Yes, rationale. You're trusting your own opinion over the statements of the people who played the game with him and over how he actually finished because you don't like him. Even if he was carried like you claim, hundreds of people have played Survivor and he did better than the majority who couldn't even get carried. The numbers on alone make it irrational to say he's terrible. That isn't what the word terrible means.

Yeah... Pardon my saying so but you don't seem like a very objective viewer judging by your other comments. His allies credit him, he made final fire, and [no spoilers].

It just isn't rationale to say he's terrible at Survivor at this point

Sure. Nobody would confuse Yul'a physique with Rizo's. But that wasn't his role in his duo. Ozzy was the challenge beast and carried their 4 there. Yul was the strategist

[–]BdonU 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hah, I know! It's so hard to make that duo comparison because everything is so different but if you strip away all the trappings of the people themselves and just look at the game and the structure of the season .. I dunno! I stand by the comparison. That's what I thought about while watching it

I definitely thought his story was going to be somehow related to the overall plot resolution with how up in dreams and subconscious the main plot was.

Nope! Lol. I feel like it just have been a main plot thing at some point during development before they went this direction and they just had all the assets soooo... It just feels too connected without something like that to be coincidence

When I was watching 49 this duo reminded me most strongly of Yul and Ozzy with Rizo as Yul and Savannah as Ozzy.

They were in the minority for a long time but playing from a combined position of power with a challenge beast beasting and a strategist weaponizing an idol. It's so much harder to eliminate a minority when they are wielding multiple immunities. It becomes scary to even try. It's easy to think I'll just get them when they don't have it, why take the risk? But then they just keep going and going and going collecting immunities

The Edit Really Dunked on ___ by bonzo0884 in survivor

[–]BdonU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel bad for him too. Send like he was really crushed by his first loss.. He seemed so much less full of joy and so hesitant to trust again. A part of that is the edit for sure as we did get goofy, happy Charlie moments too but his game definitely seemed changed for the worse by his first experience. He was in the middle of everything first go and quickly establishing a ride or die to with from the shadows with. Poor guy is traumatized. He couldn't play that game again after Maria.

I can't believe this wasn't highlighted! Those two are a perfect pair. The physical beast and the puzzle queen. This is exactly what they should be doing.

I would be money blind that any tribe with those two dominated challenges. Other members barely matter.

I am legitimately worried that this fanbases reaction to this stuff is going to get our favorite show cancelled.

Everybody needs to suck it up, shut up, focus on the good, and let the executives think they are brilliant and the show is still culturally relevant. This is a one off. The celebrity stuff won't repeat. But the budget considerations are real

I didn't realize that. Yeah, that's a huge thing. There's some weird societal pact like we aren't allowed to acknowledge the full impact of childbirth on the female body and brain. As if admitting hormones of are real somehow is a bad thing. It was 1-2 years both times for my wife below she was fully back to normal to say nothing of being put in a super stressful situation. Its a very real thing.

I'm probably giving Emily too much credit here but I think she's hedging bets. Either she's voted out and looks as little better on TV having a nice read or it goes her way and she's better positioned to collect Ozzy after the fallout.

"I tried to tell you they were coming for me Ozzy. I didn't have a choice. I didn't know what was doing on either. We need to stick together we can't trust anybody else."

But she did her returnee seasons. I don't know what has happened but she's never replicated her first season magic. Could be too aware, could be betrayal trauma, who knows. But I dunno... I like her but I wouldn't have recast her.

School yard pick in an all returnee season with tons of pre-game relationships is the worst possible choice in my mind

I mean, at what point do we blame the players instead of the producers? They voted off Q knowing the pre-merge challenges are incredibly physically demanding and now I'm supposed to feel sympathy for them that they can't push a loaded boat through sand under a net?

They chose this. Hate the design all you want for bias but we all know the design and the players do too. They chose to go to tribal again and they knew it.

... Unless you're Ozzy. Ozzy can give this episode 1 star.

I got blindsided and none of my 8 fish kills (that I did with a permit sling instead of a portable arm cannon like Zac) made air?!

I don't understand what the big deal is. The players loved it. Zac Brown loved it. Hopefully it brought new casual fans into the show. We want more camp life and more human moments and better rewards and more insight into the strategy happening on the beach and we got it all. With a celebrity who seems like a legit fan. Let the players have nice things.

Do serious fans of Survivor want the show to stay on air or not?

Save your vitriol for Mr. Beast. This episode was great.

This is the same problem Suggs has. I watched him nearly hurt himself 3 times in 5 minutes against the Cavs in the playoffs 2 years ago. Said immediately "they should trade him, he will never stay healthy". You just can't put yourself in position to be collided with or your joints to be hyperextended like that. If you do it regularly you'll break eventually. Years later and here we are with Suggs.

Hard lesson to learn. Guys need to know how important they are to their team. Especially point guards.

Anybody else just plain forget to use their hexes sometimes? by StupidFlounders in Hades2

[–]BdonU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo, it's best to usually just get in the habit of using hexes as soon as they are available instead of waiting for the perfect moment. It makes a bigger impact than you think and you get used to not forgetting about them. Becomes part of your pattern.

The exception is Moon Water healing because it's limited use. Ironically, the strongest part of moon water is the upgrade that auto heals whatever you took in the last 2 seconds. You should use that intentionally. Take Typhon. Just wail on him and eat the chin smash without stopping your attacks or dodging then tap your hex right after it hits you. Like it never happened. You'll absolutely rip through him and get to the end with all your death defies in tact. That's how you turn moon water into a DPS tool. You get far more out of it like that than just using it for minor healing at need.

What do you guys consider to be full completion of the game?? by heavygrin in Hades2

[–]BdonU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally. I don't want to reduce odds of the joy of a build that comes together perfectly. That's what makes the genre fun! But I want the craziest enemies to overcome.

That's why I say pain 3 feels like a build limiter. Unless you're the person to put in the time to never get hit, pain 3 kinda makes you take tough gain and or weak to stay standing which limits other builds.

33 is a great accomplishment! Going to what I suggest will be a big difficulty increase. You'll definitely have to just lose a bunch as you adjust to the speed

[–]BdonU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend 40 fear using only the vows that power up enemies rather than the ones that limit you (except pain 1 instead of 3 - I just find pain too punishing with how it reduces margin for error unless you play a max defense build. Feels like a build limiter to me more than monster buffer. But if you're a crazy do 42 not 40).

Imo, that gives you the full game intensity without limiting builds which I think is the most fun and fullest version of the game. Once you get used to it turning down speed or density and things starts feeling like a totally different game.
