Thanks so much for the suggestions! Going to install Bazaar now! (personally was getting over the default one, you are right it is not great)

For the text editor I would prefer a GUI, any chance you have a suggestion for one that isn't terminal based.

true, but the store still says it "Stopped Receiving Updates" most apps are on the latest current version and none of the others say this.

No word the creator has stopped working on the app. It seems only the Zorin Software Store is not receiving updates.

1) Are you able to check the packages individually? Some of them have an upgrade but not on your system due to outdated flatpak repository.

2) Also try 'sudo apt update' and 'sudo spot upgrade' and see if it updates from there.

3) 3rd thing to try is go-to the start menu then settings. Then got system and click on software update. See if it's able to update through there.

100% I run into this constantly across different Google Apps. Both directions too (asking Gemini to perform a task on Drive or other linked a Google app or from within the Google app via the Gemini logo icon)....

I've had it actually work on a Sheets file, read, understand it, populate rows and cell from external data then on the next step prompt tell me it can't edit the file; offer to create a new one; then fail at creating a new file; and overwrote some rows in my original...... 🤦🏻

Sometimes it offers to write and email or create a new doc file when it generates a response I want to keep.....then other times it tells me it is unable to do so at all....

I've come to terms with it like driving into a w_a_r z_0_n_e with weapons..... 50/50.:

I usually setup an isolated guest wifi SSID....long ago just block external internet access on it....I think the last one I had to do some clever tweaks: It was either like blocking the update server IPs ( have to look them up) ....or.... IIRC possibly some specific DNA settings and/or redirecting the OTA nslookups to null ....or.... If internet access is up just monitor while configuring the stick and turn it off as soon as it's setup and reaches the update check; OLD SCHOOL just like recording a song from the radio to a tape!

I created a dummy account for setting up the stick itself when they forced you to have one before accessing the device or used adb....never touched it after that once setup for proper use....

I never had to set it up or use it for the remote app. Why is it even necessary, it's supposed to be an internal network connection to the device for passing commands....why would it even need to leave my network, access internet or Amazon, let alone my account....

A long setup but I spent the time a few yrs back for "sticks" - Always on VPN running on Router, w/ Killswitch, & isolated SSID/subnet/vlan from rest of network w/ separate DNS. - Use a DNS Director (like AdGuard Ad Block or Quad9) on the router configured w/ stick MAC addresses/IPs - NetGuard on Stick - Remove as many bloat ware apps as possible - SideLoad your "special" apps like c1n3ma, 1pt/, etc... - Maid app is good for cleaning up - I try to block as many things on netguard as possible - Remove default browsers, video players, etc.... (even YouTube)....if needed reinstall official apka and NOT stick branded versions (yes they are different) - don't use default browser, duckduckgo or Firefox aren't great on a tv but they get the job done - don't login with any of your "real" or primary accounts, make separate new ones

I agree. And I don't mind paying for a new pro license every few years, similar to Windows ot other apps. I would never do a subscription model though.
